It's because it was changed when they released the series in the USA. In the UK it retains it's original title.

the Last Apprentice is the American name for the Wardstone Chronicles and becuase America seems to be bigger and better, these Stories are under the American name :(

hey. i like your story and i cant wait for the next chapter. and i think this is called the last apprentice series because the person who made this little fanfic area thing was from north america. im not sure. hopefully someone els who knows what thier talking about will tell you. thats just my guess. anyway, please continue this story. its a very interesting start!

The Wardstone Chronicles/The Spook's Apprentice are the UK version of the books. They changed it to just The Last Apprentice for the American version, much in the way that they changed Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Also notable, the titles of the books are different. Instead of the first book being "The Spook's Apprentice" in America, the first book is known as "Revenge of the Witch", and so on with "Curse of the Bane", "Night of the Soul Stealer", "Attack of the Fiend", "The Wrath of the Bloodeye", and finally, "Clash of the Demons".

So, I suppose that FanFiction is going off the Americanized version.

In any case, it's an interesting start to the story. I was surprised to see that you diverted from using Tom's POV. There are a few typos here and there, but nothing too distracting.

Now is Evelyn Hallow a woman or a girl? You've described her as both, so I'm having trouble picturing her in my head.

Also, I hope she doesn't end up being a Mary Sue. I suppose I'm just very much for Tom/Alice.
