This is an excellent story. I love it more every time I read it. You captured Diane magnificently; keep up the magnificent work.

OOh, it fits her so well! Her smiles are always fake, but now they're full of sense. And poor, poor michael! It sort of makes sense why she doesn't want to See him, but it can never make it rite, even if it wld have been dangerous 4 them 2 make an issue out of it back then. Poor poor mickey! Oh, but I prefer to think that Hank had a little wife once in a little house, and it was her idea 2 take michael, and she made it okay for him but not terribly swell because he was turning ou little more inconveniencing than the money allowed but he still needed sum1 and he wasn't sucha pain all of the time - so he was tolerated and smiled at occasionally at least - until he was old enough 2 not b a critical reason 4 her 2 stay anymore, and then she ran away with her aerobics instructor and hank fell to pieces and let the mediocrety sink it and drank all the time and they lost the little house so they stayed in the trailer and michael was too proud to let max & is know it ever effected him, or that anything was better or worse or particularly hurting and thus all the creeping around and not let max & is find out when he got beat on, the end! Because then he'd have at leats had a little something once that he doesn't think about anymore, but there'd still b little-kid-guilt that he drove her away, und so weiter.
