Apart from the dumbledore dislike, I’d say this would be a better storyline than what J.K. Rowling picked.

Poor Luna. The reason her dad was acting the way he was in canon was that Luna had been kidnapped and taken to Malfoy Manor. Unless something happened off-page to return Luna to safety, she's either still alive in the Malfoy's dungeon or already dead. Harry and Hermione wouldn't know she's there because they never got kidnapped themselves, so they couldn't save her and her dad was never given the chance to tell him that Luna was taken anywhere in the first place. I can't imagine that the DE's would take Riddle's death well and would take out their anger on any prisoners they took.

Beyond Luna's presumed death because of all of the things in canon that didn't happen in this story, I really like this story. Ron knowing that he messed up and couldn't be mad at Harry and Hermione for falling in love is a more mature stance than Ron is usually given credit for in fanfics. I actually liked it. Ginny falling for Neville and accepting that she and Harry were over for good was also a nice touch. My favorite change to canon had to be the non-Harry killing way of getting rid of the horcrux in his head. I enjoy it when fics find creative ways of getting rid of the horcrux that don't involve killing Harry. The whole weakening of the horcrux due to Harry's love for Hermione idea was a nice one. I've read fics where a kiss, leading to a soulbond, caused the horcrux to be forced out of Harry's head and I've also read fics where sex accomplished the same thing, but I've never read one where just their love for each other weakened the horcrux to the point that it could be removed without killing Harry.

Thanks for writing all the H/HR stories. I needed a good dose of that to push that rubbish canon ending out of my mind. To quote another HP fanfic, it's not that I hate that Ron guy, I just can't see a reason for him to exist.
