Why the Potter send Harry to live with the Dursley? David speak with Harry and what he said to him it's like Harry never want to know them. What Lucius want with Harry?

Good story. Just a few questions though.
If David was really keen to meet Harry, why didnt he seek him out on the train, or the platform before the train left for Hogwarts the first year, or the Potters for that matter?
Since it is pretty obvious that his parents havent made any attempt to contact Harry, why does David even ask why Harry wont have anything to do with him? Seriously, would you want to have anything to do with a family that had abandoned you?
Is Malfoy trying to turn Harry into some sacrificial lamb to Moldyshorts? I can see how Harry could be used as propaganda against the light side, which would work.
I am interested in seeing a chapter from the point of view of the Potters. Maybe that will fill in the gaps. I hope the reason behind why they have abandoned Harry is more complicated than simply because they're dicks.

If the Potters REALLY want Harry back like David claims, how come Lily and James haven't bothered showing up in person YET to confront Harry themselves about the subject? Or gotten in contact with the Dursleys about giving Harry back to them?
