Reviews for The Song of a Friend
PSW chapter 1 . 11/3/2015
This was really interesting - very haunting and sad, but also beautiful. Thanks for writing.
Stormcutter684 chapter 1 . 7/9/2015
Wow .. What an intriguing and beautiful story. At first I was confused, but I caught on that the writing in italics was Merenel's thoughts.

It's so mysterious, eerie, yet hauntingly beautiful. I am glad that Merenel was finally released of her burden.
Amazing story. I loved it.
BakerStreetIsLastRefugeOfHope chapter 1 . 6/6/2013
Very well written.
J.C chapter 1 . 11/26/2012
Few stories have read that held my interest so well. This story deserves to rated Num. 1.

That was beautiful, very poinant.
Larner chapter 1 . 9/23/2010
A work of beauty, to see the spirit of an Elf who'd escaped from Morgoth freed to become herself once more. Excellent and heartening.
empty acct chapter 1 . 8/26/2009
This is superb-just beautiful. I love reading something that's really rich in detail and feeling, and overall there's this subtle, poetic air of mystery. Very nice job!
Mirach chapter 1 . 7/29/2009
Ah, it is beautiful! Forgive me for my long absence, you created a most entrancing story in it… The Song resonates deeply in it, and I am glad for Merenel that she was able to find rest at last, and thankful to Aragorn and Legolas for their compassion with her, even despite the darkness engulfing her.
Jedi Sapphire chapter 1 . 7/18/2009
I hope you'll forgive lateness with the review - I saw the story yesterday, but I didn't have time to comment then.

I really love this. *g* It has everything - friendship, angst, and that little touch of otherworldliness that is uniquely Tolkien. The way you write Elves in all your stories is so easy and natural!
ziggy3 chapter 1 . 7/17/2009
This is utterly breath taking. Beautiful idea. Beautifully written. What more can I say?
Silivren Tinu chapter 1 . 7/17/2009
I've been waiting for you to post this story. :) It was my first place vote in the Teitho contest and will definitely find a place among my all-time favourites. How you described Legolas' singing was incredibly beautiful and touching, as was the moment when Aragorn healed Legolas (did I mention that I love the way you write their friendship? :). Getting to see everything that happened through the eyes of Gwathnaer, or rather, Merenel, too, was an added treat. I can only say that all about this story was hauntingly beautiful and I will enjoy re-reading it for a long time to come. :)

I'm looking forward to reading more from you and, btw, I hope you'll post your previous Teitho story ("A Sliver of Darkness"), too, because I enjoyed it very much (it got one of my votes) and I'd like to add it to my c2 "The Bonds of Friendship"!
