I know this was written 5 years ago and I KNOW it's a tiny detail, but in the last chapter (7) you said it was only -5 C, which is not nearly cold enough for the events you're describing; I was outside less than an hour ago in an unzipped jacket and it was -1 C. I'm really sorry but for some reason this bothers the crap outta me

This story was really good! I've read quite a few of your other stories, but have been too lazy to review. But I wanted to say that this one was quite excellent. I think you do better with the longer stories as you have more space to develop everything and this one really shown there.

I was a little surprised that you didn't use any time distortion when you brought in the black hole. I had expected the Daedelus to show up in time because the black hole would have slowed time for Rodney and Jennifer. But your solution worked well too, just not what I had expected :)

WOW that was an incredible ride! This story was amazing and so freaking long, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! You really capture Jennifer and Rodney's unique relationship SO WELL, like of course they'd be snarky to each other but that's what makes them perfect for each other! Your descriptions of the planet, especially as it was being disintegrated, are so beautiful, I could imagine everything like I was right there. THANK YOU FOR YET ANOTHER INCREDIBLE STORY!

I loved this story, it is really well written and couldn't stop reading, however I found myself often setting cold reading this and needing an extra blanket... (maybe something to do with the ice planet?)

I'd love to brag that I knew what was happening when Jennifer first noticed the sky changing, but sadly I only figured it out when they first saw the snow rising - and in between I sat on coals wanting to know what was going to happen next. "

I do believe the lightest particles would have been drawn up first, meaning long before the snow started its upward journey, the gases of the planet's atmosphere should have been sucked away. Naturally they wouldn't have survived that (for long), so never mind. .~

One other detail that confused me was Rodney's injury which you kept describing as being on the side of his chest, even though 'he was thrown backwards into what he surmised must have been the base of one of the chairs in the cockpit' in chapter 5. The easiest way to fix this might be to change the word 'backwards' there into 'sideways'; that would at least bring the injury closer to his front and to where he could hold it with his uninjured arm as he often did throughout the adventure. (And he'd still have been able to hold Jennifer protectively to his chest.)

This was an engaging and suspenseful story with lots of emotional ups and downs, and downs ... and some more downs. Did I mention the downs? (Geeze, I don't think I've ever gotten so depressed from empathizing with a fictional character!)

Also, thanks for the day markers. I did wonder where you would fit in the remaining six days when we were still on the fourth one in chapter 17 with only one chapter to go. Great save there, though it felt a little rushed. And by the way, whatever did Rodney say to Jennifer's planet-naming?
