Reviews for Random Uses For Fate
Skate-815 chapter 1 . 8/3/2009
Love this, as usual.

My fave bit? The part about him reading the manual on support. Dunno why, but it's just so perfectly him.

I like your writing. I have to pay a lot of attention to get the metaphors, if that's what they are. Good work

Oh my goodness, I adore this. I love a good mental breakdown, as convoluted as that sounds. I love that he actually opens up to her, lets her see things he's never shared with anyone else. And I love that she reciprocates.

And the sex, of course. That's all great, too. :)
Viktorija chapter 2 . 7/19/2009
It was really great!;)

Z, I was soo hungry for some new Bolivia tonight and you delivered!

"He remembered telling his school counselor, who shared a personality with the common dial tone..." *lol* I like that :)

"It was the reason the adult thirsted for foreign lands;at least he'd have an excuse for the constant sense of wrong." Nice.

"...and no amount of fringe science could steal the strength of their pairing." OK, my new FAVORITE Bolivia line! LOVE IT!
Mr Super Czar chapter 2 . 7/18/2009
It occurred to him, as the floor chilled under them, that he hadn’t responded to her two-phase approach of support. And he rectified that by warming the tiles the old fashioned way.

I love it.
Viktorija chapter 1 . 7/16/2009
I liked it!:)

Hello, sunshine! :) I have to say, this is a most excellent story you've provided.

My favorite bits:

"...but the woman must have put on her morning face with an uncooperative spatula."

"The discovery of a grimy rubber band meant the rebirth of the angry ponytail, a requirement for investigating."

"Both father and son shared the genetic trait of being randomly needed, like bad medicine or public sex."

(This last one made me laugh out loud.)

I love Peter's little realization that being almost killed wasn't as bad as Olivia being actually killed.

Lovely work! :)

Hey Z, nice to see a new piece from you. :)

I think the tone of this is interesting-especailly at the end where he's laughing in an unfunny situation-no wonder the FBBIES drew their guns!

My fav:

"Peter's purpose in all this as in so many areas of his existence, remined an unfortunate mystery until Olivia's hand, newly unglued from his stained sleeve, brushed his. Support. Oh yeah. He'd read the manual on that and, based on page eight, he placed his hand on her lower spine in perfect textbook fashion." Nice. And yes, he does that alot. :)
