Okay, so I got to "her impressive talents" and I had a thought of, "is that what they call it now?" And then I realized that this was Spock I was reading about.

I read a story on AO3 that had McCoy make Jim appear dead in the fight with Spock (it is in the last chapter of the story, which has triggers in it, but the last chapter's pretty tame with the disturbing stuff, i.e. rape, so you could probably just read the scene in the last chapter) /works/5297936/chapters/14752048 . This was a lovely and funny story that got me through a rough patch getting ready for surgery. I was so no each the end and see the bit about Bones but I'm glad he had his share of happiness. Nyota, too.

Water can only evaporate when it is near boiling point, and as 140 degrees Fahrenheit isn't close to that temperature, what you just described is impossible. If it was that near boiling point, people would be dying of sunstroke.

Spock is not attracted to Uhura; it's as simple as that. Perhaps he dated her because it seemed "logical", or maybe she asked him out and he said yes just to find out if he liked her. I like that.

This is an engaging begining, and it is enjoyable to note that this K/S story will be addressing Uhura rather than taking the easy way out and killing her off, turning her into a witch, or pretending that she and Spock were not romantically involved in the movie 'verse. Spock's lack of initiative in their relationship is entirely believable, and Nyota is completely justified for feeling unloved. Real people do make mistakes in relationships, even stupid ones. I have. So far, the corrosion of Spock and Uhura's romantic relationship is acceptable.
