This is breathtaking! I don't know why you don't have more reviews for this. You've gotten Eugenides' character totally right - the interplay between his fear and love for Attolia, his worry and concerns and the way he can see right through her mask to the person she is inside. The human aspect of Attolia comes through here, but the most poignant of all is Eugenides' feelings for her. Amazing.
