So...I remember reading this ages ago, loving it, then completely losing track of it. Let me make up for lost time by saying your story is still as amazing as I remember, and I'm glad that for such a rarepair, your story happens to be top quality. Whether you ever decide to finish it or not, the start you've made is fantastic and I know I'll read it again and again with as much enjoyment as at first. Thank you for writing it, taking such care with characterization, expanding on the grief and pain the Romulans feel, not to mention giving Winona her fair share as well. Your story is interesting and engrossing, full of great moments and character touches. I hope one day you pick it up again, but thanks again regardless.

Okay, I realise I’m several years too late for this story and that you (the author) may not ever read this review, but I just had to say that this fic was absolutely beautiful. Your characterisations, your descriptions, the tension you build-up, the atmosphere, the heart-breaking way you describe the minds of both Winona and Nero – all of it was just beyond breath-taking and every single word was like a finely crafted piece of art in its own right. I really cannot describe how much I think of what you’ve created here but it truly is, without doubt, a wonderful piece of writing. It goes without saying that I sincerely hope that one day it might get updated again, but even if it doesn’t, I just have to say thank you so much for producing and sharing such a stunning piece of storytelling. It's wonderfully written, hardly any errors(if any). Though I noticed in some places there are no dividers. Like between the AN and change of POVs.

WHY YOU NO UPDATE?

This is really good, however I think you should look into the whole her going crazy part. I know a woman who has just lost a husband that she really loved deeply would feel an immense pit of sorrow but her baby would help ground her, keep her solely focused on his well being and continued survival. A mother's instincts would realize that she must do whatever it takes to ensure the well-being of her child but when that means bedding the enemy she definitely won't feel easy about it although she'll think she has little choice in accepting Nero. I'm not saying you haven't done a good job relating their strained relationship and her grieving, you have, but I don't know about the whole them saving each other from insanity thing. Are you planning on finishing this?

i love this story! the whole revertion/redemption idea is really great.
A) Because i have always felt sorry for Nero in one way or another and
B) because it will not be a cliche full revertion with unicorns and rainbows. it will be hard, mentally challengings, and will require many mess-ups until Nero is mostly Oren again.
