luvagoo chapter 1 . 12/6/2010 Iiinteresting and oh so very true :) I always found Inara one of the most fascinating characters...always hoped they'd do a comic on just her backstory. |
kittn chapter 1 . 7/21/2009 Poor kid! ... It would explain a few things, though! |
Opal Roseblossom chapter 1 . 7/14/2009 Hmm, interesting... I could see that being Inara's past. She always acts the lady, but clearly she can fight. Great job. :) |
Cole J chapter 1 . 7/12/2009 You have such a wonderful way of fleshing out the characters! I love the back stories and how you weave them into the fabric of canon. Bravo! |
jane0904 chapter 1 . 7/9/2009 As Bytemite says, this is the Inara from the beginning of Shindig, when she tucks the stolen slaver's money into her bra. A real *lady* wouldn't do that. No wonder Mal wants to find out what's beneath the facade! |
Katesfriend chapter 1 . 7/8/2009 Interesting view of Inara's past. That could explain why she was so comfortable with so many different types of people and not so class conscious as she could be. |
Bytemite chapter 1 . 7/8/2009 Ha! I've always imagined that Inara was way more of an $$ kicker than people gave her credit for. She knows how to use a bow, swords, and I think not only did Saffron take her by surprise in OMR, but also that she had other things to worry about. All considering, I think she still managed to dodge that high kick with considerable grace, and that plus her profession is more than enough to suggest to me that she can handle herself in hand to hand combat. And I agree with you, Inara was totally rough and tumble as a little girl before her training. Why else would she be so comfortable in a low class dive watching Mal and Jayne shoot pool, at least before the obligatory bar fight broke out? Plus I honestly believe, and you can't tell me different, that she secretly enjoyed it when Mal stole the slaver's money then pounded him flat. She looks at him like some combination Robin Hood-White Knight. |
