BRA-fucking-VO! I’m speechless! The concept of Alex being in all there’s different times and Gene is her constant is so interesting and no matter the time or place he’ll always be there to save her. It was so stressful reading the last chapter but I’m glad everything worked out and that what happened to Alex in 1917 gave her the courage to be able to talk to Gene candidly in 1982. Thank you for writing this story to its completion and sharing it. I truly enjoyed it.

Oh I can’t handle this!

Phew! Now that was a heavy chapter to unpack. Gene so rarely shows emotion, but man when he does, it hurts like hell. I’m telling you, this story has me on the edge of my seat, white knuckles hoping that the war doesn’t claim Alex or Gene.

This is me shouting: AHHAHGFHDHBDBAHSBBFBSNS! Like holy shit I have no words! And now I want Keeley Hawes and Philip Glenister to revisit these characters in this setting! Like your words paint such a vivid picture that I can totally see it playing out in my mind.

Great use of canon while still creating a unique, well-researched plot. So hard to use AU with A2A, as it's an AU of a sort, but this really worked.

I knew I would enjoy this story if only because I was so impressed by your writing in the Island at War fic and, well, of course, because this is another chance to hear Philip glenister in my head. But I did not expect to be taken back years to an overheard conversation wherein our battalion sergeant major threatened to check for dirty socks! Frightening realism :)

Just wanted to have a written "statement" that this is officially-and by far- the best A2A fanfic EVER! If you are not a professional writer then you should seriously consider it. Research, intelligent writing, great grammar skills, imagination, characterisation...ALL there in a perfect combination. Well done, wishing you all best. THIS should be the perfect example for fanfic writing.

I loved this story, set in Ieper (Ypres), mentioning of Passendaele and Nieuwpoort (Nieuport). If you have not yet visited that part of the world, please think about it and make time to do so. I go there regularly and it surely makes you very humble, alwyas manage to cry my eyes out when they do the last post at the Menen Poort (Menin Gate) at 8PM. Verdun is a long way away from Ypres but I can imagine that in wartime they would have signs up like that. St Vrain does not sound familiar to me but who cares anyway. Lovely lovely story, very believable and a happy ending for Alex and Gene. It's a pity you don't write anymore though. Thanks for all the stories you did write.

A really awesome AU fic! I like the way you handled the aftermath directly after season two in 1982, and the world you created in 1917 was believable and true to the characters. The ending was very satisfying as well :)
