This was wonderfully written and well portrayed! Gosh darn I love my country. So bloody much. Being a patriotic Canadian feels weird but I love it. (Is also Canadian)

Amazing fic! I am so proud of the nation, we totally won. So leave it alone America. And it's also cool how Canada became independent, even if the British insisted so. 'Cause Canada is a beautiful country that deserves to be its own. I hope that Quebec decides to still be a part of the country.

I don't really know much about the War of 1812... We glossed over it in 8th grade history... Then again I live in Florida, US, so that's not very surprising. We're more concerned with the American Revolution. Plus I'm pretty sure Florida was Spanish territory at that time... I'll have to double check on that though. Great story, very infornational, and an interesting read. Thanks!

I... I just. This was wonderful. I had heard that it was common belief in the fandom to claim that England was at the forefront for this war, with Canada having almost no part, so this really, really made me happy, not just as a fan, but as a Canadian. I think this is what the fandom needs, getting away from caricatures and exploring different sides of history. Especially the deeds of countries that lean towards unexplored. You did a fabulous job, I really, really liked how capable you made Canada, even while he wasn't even comfortable with the situation. I'm just going to treasure this story, if you don't mind.

Awesome story first of all. I only had one thing to point out historical wise. With the whole fort niagra (which is a reall cool place to tour btw), Canada also burnt down the entire city (not really a city at that time) of Buffalo. Which everyone seems to forget... but that's just pride in my hometown.

Arthur Currie is my hero too!
