Woah, I was sooooo worried toward the end. Dean's isolation seemed so complete, his silence a prison more than a retreat from the world.

Just a wonderful dread build from happy, smart-Alec, cocky younger Dean to older, more world weary, hurt Dean.

Brava. Nicely plotted and paced and full of emotion. I can empathize with all of the Winchester men. Thank you for sharing!

Oh my word. This is beyond fabulous. Your word choices were brilliant and everything was perfectly in character. All of Dean's emotions came across so well and intensely that I needed to stop to collect myself a couple times as I got to the end. This is WONDERFUL.

There's something about an emo!Dean that tries to man it up that's very appealing. Like this one and wish I read it sooner. :0)

This is actually my first run-in with this concept of Dean not talking, or being afraid to speak lest he screw something else up. Read a lot about Dean's mouth, oh yes, but not in this way. I love how you snuck in that little, highly-suggestive one-liner about what positive things Dean's mouth is capable of.

Dean's so self-destructive sometimes, especially when Sam's not around to ground him to reality and cut through Dean's complexitites. I was so relieved when he finally spoke. I felt like I'd been holding my breath since his last word. Wonderful work on creating tension throughout and expressing emotions with these characters. I'm going to peruse my way through your other fics now.
