Awww, so cute! I love how you made them bond. I wish we got to see more of that in the show but yours was perfect. I love how Zuko told his story. It was so raw and heartbreaking!

Zuko is pretty, even Toph agrees. Honestly, it's why Ozai burned his face. He can't have his son be better than his daughter right? XD

This is so old, but i'm leaving this here anyway, buuuut the subtle sexism in this seems really out of character for Zuko. I almost stopped reading when I read that admitting weakness still felt like a defeat to him even as he was admitting it to a girl. This just doesn't make any sense to me seeing as nothing Zuko has encountered thus far would tell him that women are weaker (like, hello, his sister is Azula.) This type of thought would make sense if Sokka were the one saying it, but it really seems out of character coming from Zuko. I can only hope this was a misjudged character flaw in Zuko rather than your own opinions showing through your work, and that if it is indeed your own opinions you're projecting onto Zuko, they've changed in the past 10 years.

Wonderful job! I'd never read a Toko story before, but the way you wrote it... well, it was quite enjoyable :)

I've never considered Toko before, but Toph and Zuko are my favorite characters, so how can I not love this! You show a great understanding for their characters and I really enjoyed seeing them bond over something the others can't really understand - their own fieldtrip, in a way :)
