As Foe Hammer flew the aircraft up towards the sky she thought she caught the glimpse of two figures on the ground not too far away from the Autumn out of the left corner of the window but was out of sight as they flew.

"What is it?" the Chief asked her.

"Nothing," she replied, thinking that must've been two Elite's. Well, they were about to blown sky high.

Sgt. Johnson of the UNSC looked into the eyes of his enemy. An Elite. He had finally decided to make his way back to the Pillar of Autumn, hoping that the big bird could still fly and if not he would try sending another distress call.

The Sargent had had a heavy heart during his journey, utterly convinced that he was the only one left of the UNSC left on this damn forsaken ring. There was even radio silence on every channel he had tried.

All his ammo for his assault rifle was gone, but he still had it, refusing to leave it behind. This rifle had saved his ass so many times already, especially on this ring and even against those crawling alien bastards!

When he just made it too the space ship when ran into the Covenant alien he was at arms with right now. It too had no energy left in its plasma gun and the human and Elite had their arms at on one another, trying the overpower the other.

Suddenly, a huge blast sound from the Pillar to they're left and they both turned to look at it, stopping what they were doing, and watched as the blasts continued, red and yellow flames slewing from the Autumn.

Johnson stared at the ship, knowing full well that the ship was getting ready to blow and if that happened, the blast would be so large that it be powerful that it would destroy everything. He didn't know the radius, but enough to know that it would break this ring world.

With him on it.

Johnson sighed, knowing that he had only moments to live and looked up at the Covenant Elite he had been quarreling with and opened his arms out, his rifle in hand and spoke to it.

"This it baby... Hold me..."

The Elite turned its head away from the the Autumn and looked down at him and Johnson could just about make out fear in its ugly looking face and to the man's surprise, it actually did wrap its arms around him, holding him tight, and he did the same.

At least they weren't going to die alone. The two enemies of a different race sought comfort in one another in they're final moments.

Johnson though, for his amusement, slid his left hand down from the Elite's back to the right cheek of its ass.

Ok, so my writing isn't the best, but how could you not add this! Ok, yes, so its a Foe Hammer story, but no Easter Egg? Some stories need an Easter Egg!

Clearly, Foehammer is a stunningly badass pilot to spot-land a Pelican on a walkway.

Nice, in Halo: First Strike its shown other people did survive including Johnson, but ironicaly all of the survivors but the Chief and Cortana were dead by the end of Halo 3.

I liked what you did with this, I remember when I first completed Halo: CE and I felt bad for Foehammer.

It's good you made her survive, even if it is AU.

Good job.

great story i really wish Foehammer did'nt die thats the one thing i hate about halo. everytime i play it though i always shoot down the banshees that killed her it makes me feel a little better

I've actually stayed behind to shoot the banshees down myself. A shame you can't really change her fate in the game... :(
