This was delightful. I'm going to read the sequel now but I wanted you to know I enjoyed your depiction of Spock, the simplicity of the story made it flow well without dragging things out. I like that you established a friendship between Pike and Spock, that's something a lot of people neglect but it fits the relationship in the movie.

This is absolutely wonderful & your writing style is a pleasure to read - you are very talented! I'm an older person & I became a fan of the original Star Trek when it was first broadcast (I was in high school). My favorite character was - and is - Spock, although I loved them all. I watched all the incarnations of Star Trek over the years & enjoyed them, but the original has always held a special place in my heart. When I saw the new Star Trek movie - re-casting the original cast with younger actors - I was very impressed. I went to see it with a feeling that I would hate it, that it would be a pale imitation with more expensive & technologically advanced special effects. To my amazement, I found myself absolutely loving it. I found myself thrilled with the daring of the writers - to dismantle the accepted canon & re-make it into something uniquely its own - that would allow us to experience new adventures in this new alternate reality, but with our old "friends" made young again, journeying forward in their perfect Enterprise. Back before there was a fannish term for it, I "shipped" Spock with Nurse Chapel, but your wonderful stories have expanded my acceptable relationship possibilities for him & I am finding the idea of him & Uhura very appealing - very logical as you have developed it! I'm looking forward to reading more of your work - both in the Star Trek & the OUAT universes! Thank You so much for sharing with the rest of us.

My chest is so tight, in that angsty, hurts-so-good way. I love the scene at the Jazz Festival and the discussion of Vulcan marriage customs. Your descriptions of Uhura's body language and vocal inflections were vivid and perfectly in-character. I LOVE this. On to the sequel-thank goodness that I'm late enough to the party that there is one now!
