No, no no no no, NO nono no, it's not choppy at all! It's SO perfect, you have NO idea! I thought it was absolutely BRILLIANT how you broke up the sections, because it goes from the almost-silence of Casey and you can FEEL her pain to this dialogue, dialogue, dialogue of the phone calls and it's just all so incredibly perfect!

And I loved the part at the beginning of Casey talking to the bunny like it was a psychologist or something because it's just SO Casey and it was awesome :D

really liked it! I could completely see Casey having that type of melt down over her realization lol - I was more suprised about the fact that Derek didnt go see her or have to have an internal struggle w/ himself about seeing or calling her. Really good - can't wait to rd your next story!

This was awesome! I was hooked with the tagline you had. Which by the way, I've got to give you props because that line has to be one of THE BEST! lol. A Sigmund Freud tattoo xD I'm suprised Derek knew who that was. Although he DOES know Casey and she probably got a lot of information stuck in his head by accident hah. Anyway, I really loved everything about this story. I loved how EVERYBODY from the family and even Emily called Derek trying to figure out about Casey. And even with those tiny phone conversations, you managed to get everyone so in character. Especially George! lmao I loved that "Do you-uh-want me to talk about Casey?" "...No." George is so funny xD. Then Casey freaking out about liking Derek was just so.. Casey. And I'm pretty sure there were a few times in this story where I was just like, this line is so great! What, with the beginning about Derek being the root, stem, and flower of the problem. Then Derek's lines were probably the best. "What do I look like, my stepsister's keeper?" I just pretty much loved everything about this story! The ending was lovely, I liked that you didn't have this whole "I LOVE YOU DEREK!" confession and how Derek&Casey managed that "I like you" conversation, was so them. This was an excellent story!

Hahaha. Poor Casey. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knew. And they were okay with it. She stressed herself out for nothing. What a crummy situation to put yourself in. But what a great one-shot!

I'm not going to lie, it did kind of fall apart there a little bit in the middle, but I think you've got potential-especially since you came up with that Sigmund Freud joke. That's what interested me in this story in the first place. Anyway, I hope you write some more soon!

That was a *perfect* characterization of Casey! Seriously, I was grinning throughout. Adorable and totally not mushy, and it had some wonderful lines! I loved the jerk-y feel of the whole story, Casey's feelings in one and Derek's "fam phone calls" (an excellent, and very realistic touch) in the other. (Btw, how awesome is it that Casey's sitting at home, talking to her TOY bunny, and making friends with punk-ish chicks, and freaking out TOTALLY).

Also, the Sigmund Freud thing Derek's way of telling Casey he likes her equates Epic Win!
