Wonderful! One of the best Elrond/Isildur fics out there, not least because you make Isildur a real person, & explain his attraction for Elrond. I love this, I really do. Well written, well thought-out & really rather heart-breaking.

Man, when I first watched 'Lord of the Rings' this was also in my thoughts. (Okay, that was kinda creepily Galadriel-like...) Anyway, I thought this was very well-written and captured movie-Elrond's character perfectly. I'm definitely bookmarking this. You know, book-Elrond strikes me as much more infallible and less human than he appears in the movie. I like the different take, although I keep expecting Hugo Weaving to suddenly don a pair of sunglasses and start addressing people as 'Mr. Anderson'.

This is great. Elrond rules... :) It gives a whole new perspective to that scene in the movie... And also the bitterness Elrond seems to harbor regarding the "strength of men". Wonderful job!

poignant and beautifully written take on elrond. i particularly love the way you draw the threads of the three generations together, the repetition of history - "the cycle always repeats". *very* interesting.

I liked this. Short, but an interesting point-of-view piece that I could see fitting well within the LotR universe. (And, well, I really liked Elrond in the movie, so yay to Elrond slashiness!)

Congrats, this is the first movie-based fanfic I have liked thus far (excluding lists... heh heh)! I've also never seen a slashfic (or any fic, actually) dealing with Isildur, so this was different. I like the way that you tied in Elrond's bloodlines with his love for Isildur, romantic and otherwise to help give an insight into why someone otherwise so very... um... sanctified (I guess, at least as the book-Elrond is written) could be so very bitter about Men's weakness. It's his weakness as well, his guilt, and oddly it mirrors Gandalf's weakness about Frodo ("We can ask no more of him!"). Well done!
