Snape saves harry because of lily...he dislikes james more because he saved his life because james' best friend sirius put snape there in the first place. The life saving or rather, the being dumbledore's spy and teaching potions at hogwarts had always been for harry, for lily's son, from the beginning. So ur understanding of this i dont agree, because its canon.

Sigh.. snape was ooc for me, but its ok~ dumbledore could be manipulative, its possible from canon. But snape always had 'protect lily's son's life' at the top of. his mind. I dont think he's a manipulative type of person, or agree with dumbledore's manipulations, whether they be for good or evil, as we see in canon. But i'm ok with a different snape, so no matter..

God you’ve made him a revenge maniac towards james, yes his spite for james was strong and he conveyed this multiple times but his live for lily surpassed that spite.

I mean no one expects snape to be nice but bashing and completely twisting his intentions never contribute or make the story enjoyable. I mean there are only three people that were ever truly on Harry’s side without manipulation or because they were expected to be. They were Sirius Black, Reimus Lupin, and Severus Snape literally that are the only people that ever truly had Harry’s safety at the forefront of their minds.

Being parselmouth didn’t hold such negative connotations it was a ability often genetic but could appear in anyone.
