That was one of the saddest, most emotionally provocative, beautiful stories I've ever read, with tears rolling down my face. The very idea that Gene would do that is heart-wrenching ... but so accurate, I think. So glad it ended as it did, though! :')

What a great piece of writing. Particularly liked the compression of the 'He cried...' section. The agony of emotion as one short line builds on another. Convincing in the depth of devotion and as a portrayal of male grief. Oh, and Molly being wise beyond her years.

A really beautiful story. I cried so much! You are a very talented writer. I was even more impressed when I noticed you are only 19 - I think a great future in literature is ahead of you. I would certainly buy your book :D

I don't know how I managed to miss this one before, but I found it via your poll at the Railway Arms, and now I'm crying like a baby. The idea of the aged Gene, coming in faithfully to talk to the comatose Alex every day for twenty-six years, his whole life revolving around her, is so utterly heartbreaking. And that 2008 Alex only finds him when it's too late. But hiw sad that, to return to him and change the past, Alex has had to leave Molly behind, even though it's with her sanction. It goes to show that A2A is unlikely to have a completely happy ending.
