I so loved this! I really wish we had gotten at least this in the manga. But! NaruHina is now official so hopefully we will get more moments like this in the anime or in the Borito manga! Excellent job! I'm so glad I found this story.

I'm normally not a Naruhina fan, but when I come across short stories like this, it's a really pleseant change from all the other Hina couples.

Great job...wonderful ...if it only could have happened that way:) I like what is going on in the manga now...as Naruto and Hinata fight side by side. I think it will all end with them together soon.

Hehe...Hahahahahaha! That laugh is a combination of a few things: the joy of reading this yet again, and the irony of having neglected to tell you that I've done so previously. I know I've already favorited this, and even put it on my wall of fame on my profile page, but I'm only just realizing now that I've never left a review here before. Well, now I'm going to rectify that.

After having seen the events that would have lead up to this in the anime (which I'm further ahead in storywise than the manga), as well as what followed (or more precisely, what didn't), I can safely say I prefer this. I still enjoy Naruto, but...I'm no longer watching for the characters, the plot, or what I think will happen next. (I'm actually watching that new show Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals in order to get my fill of Naruto characters) I'm really just watching it at this point for two primary reasons: to keep up, and details and nitpicks aside, it's still fun to watch. But honestly, moments like this should be canon when they're not. The author of Naruto...I'm really starting to think that his primary concern is moving things along, regardless of what gets thrown aside and goes unanswered and ignored for unspecified amounts of time. But I think what bothers me most is a lot of what goes into the relationship between Naruto and Sakura. I don't hate Sakura, and I honestly liked her a whole lot during the Chunin Exams. But even from the beginning, I didn't feel that Naruto and Sakura were a good match. Naruto doesn't even like Sakura for anything beyond the surface. Just her looks and her smile. But apparently, that's all it seems to take for him, despite the fact that Sakura does have more positive traits to her than that, such as her intelligience and her desire to improve herself as both a ninja and a person. On the otherhand, Sakura has no patience for his actions, regularly resorting to calling him out on it, and even insulting him. Thing is, Naruto doesn't understand WHY he bothers her in these instances, and no one ever explains it to him, not even the victim. I CAN see them as a couple, but...not a strong, positive one. More like one of those you'd see in a romantic comedy where one comment causes everything to go downhill, and even though it's funny at the time, that's the ONLY time it's funny. Having it happen again and again with the same person in the same way makes it lose any credibility. I know there are those who will disagree with me on this, though, and I respect them for it, because they're able to see something I cannot.

Okay, my rant is over, and now for my real review. I couldn't find any spelling or grammar errors, and the way it's written is emotional, powerful, and touching, but still to the point and easy to understand and appreciate. And as far as credibility is concerned, this may not have happened, and I don't know if it will happen in a different way, but it sure seems it COULD have happened (seriously, is there a way to use italics in a review. I have a feeling not, but it'd be aweseome if there were) and quite easily at that. This may be an alternate timeline/universe/possibility, but quite frankly, it sure doesn't feel like one. Naruto and Hinata's words and actions are completely believable, especially given the circumstances, and having not seen this happen in the anime actually feels more out of place than what I have read here.

All in all, like Gift of the Rose, this unquestionably deserves to be one of my favorite fan fiction stories of all time. Once again, this a job well done.

Well that was just lovely! I'm so glad that it was Hinata to be there when the damn broke, and what a lovely girl she is, in body and soul. Excellent writing and characterizations! Oh if only this was how the manga went! Naruhina fans would be in joy for years to come. I am very disappointed that after Hinata's wonderfully heartfelt confession that it hasn't even been acknowledged yet. I know there is a lot going on and all, but really? Not even a single little talk? So I rather like thinking of your fic as something that happened off screen, so to speak, that we just know happened!

at first, i thought that nothing's goin' to happen... that she'll die and you know, minor angst and stuffs like that. but when i reached the last sentence, it really inflicted a pain in my heart. hinata was suffering, thinking that naruto still loves sakura and is oblivious of her but then... she is wrong. and the truth only came out when she finally closed her eyes and embraced death!

this story is awesome although there are some mistakes... but it's still good! thanks for writing this. :)

This story struck a chord in me. The way he reacted to her confession was as logical and realistic as one could get without sounding very cheesy. Great story, i really enjoyed reading this. Thumbs up!
