A fascinating idea, I really like the notion that Kate comes from the future and therefore understands what Alex is going through. (Did she have a particular reason for staying in 2008, though - as Alex has, for returning to 1982?) The glimpses into the future for the team are so moving - Chris and Shaz, happy together; Ray, having found and lost happiness; and Gene, destroyed by the loss of Alex. It moved me to tears. After that, Alex's progress towards echoing Sam's suicide was sad but inevitable, but her reunion with Gene is full of hope. Poor Molly, though, first their relationship breaking down and then having to cope with her mother's suicide - it'll be worse for her than if Alex had died in the coma. Maybe Series 3 will go like this...

Very well written! I liked it. I liked the addition of Kate - as a "real world" person who understood the process. Very nice.

Sad that she had to leave Molly behind but I love that she was "meant" to be with Gene, so romantic. Great fic.
