You're breaking character. In the anime series, Tenma never made her sister "hot chocolate" (or, tea rather?). Also, Yakumo was definitely too modest to go out of the bath with only a towel, and then shrug off the situation like she does in your story.

Also, I don't think that it's realistic for anyone to ask if their pet was any less important than their own family members' life. Usually, people value the lives of their family more than their pets, but even if that's not the case I don't see anyone asking that kind of question.

On the other hand, Yakumo's guilt over having to make Kenji show up at their house when he had a meeting with the publishing company's editor is realistic. It fits Yakumo's personality in that she doesn't want to have to inconvenience others for her sake. Especially, when it would come to Kenji's ambitions considering she was willing to sacrifice her own responsibilities in order to help Kenji finish his comic.

The intro turned a bit confusing but settled as you explained the story. Yakumo does get a bit wprried or overwelmed, doesn't she? Loved the story. Even though Yakumo is always worried and content, her coming out of the bathroom like that seemed upmost right but I don't think she would show herself in front of guest in a towel, but it worked out.
