Sad that this amazing story was seemingly abandoned but at very least it gives me a happier head canon for the first Valkyria Chronicle.

I have to say I love this story it's very unfortunate that it probably won't come back.
It's sad that I only now just discovered this but I still do have a little amount of hope for to come back.
I've seen stories come back from the brink before and I certainly hope this one does to.

Nine years since this story was published, and nine years since you've last updated this work. It's of extreme rarity that I'd put the effort in to write a review on a story, usually it's just leaving a follow with indifference in mind, or not leaving anything at all. But this story seemingly caught my attention when I was just perusing through the Valkyria Chronicles's section. Best click of the year I'd say. The level of care and detail put into this work is admirable, the way each character is portrayed and developed throughout the story made me read each chapter desiring for more.

Nine years since you've updated the last chapter, and being the cynical ass that I am, I'll say that you probably won't be returning to finish this work. Still, I'm glad I've decided to click on your story, and I'll just leave this review here, and also a follow - along with my distant hope that the end of this work would finally be published for us readers of fiction.

This is...well, to say the story is well written is a bit of an understatement. I feel bad finding it almost 8 full years after its creation, however.

I loved the Valkyria chronicles game and anime. I understand many good stories on this site never get finished, and this appears to be the authors only contribution, but hopefully, if they're still out there, someday they'll return and finish it. Giving Isara a proper ending would be, well, cathartic. She deserved a happy ending. Screw 'no one dies in the game, it's not a war game'. There were other characters like Lugo who could have been killed. He was practically designed for it. Hell, I'd have rather seen -Rosie- gotten shot at that moment, -that- would have been equally compelling. Her character arc had pretty much finished by then.

Rant over, good story, worth a read. :)

Really impressed with the focus of the story so far, shame that it hasn't been updated in the last few years, and I doubt that you'll pick it up again, but if you do then you've got an eager reader. And if someone else wants to pick it up send an update

Interesting premise with an unique structure of writing. Looking forward to reading the rest of what's already been written, even if the fanfic is on hiatus.

Oh, by the way, to those particular Guests and fellow members of ... Would you stop whining about the 4-year hiatus? Have you not considered what the author might be going through? Stories can't just be written down instantly, especially when the authors don't gain any monetary compensation for them. Furthermore, have you ever thought about the possibility that the author of this fanfic might have been stricken by tragedy? I have heard of several authors on who ceased writing-because they're no longer with us. Some ignorant people would continually complain about their stories put on hiatus, not knowing the truth... I grant you that not even I know the truth about ArtilleryImbecile, but at least I have a feeling that he/she has a reason for the hiatus.

Still working through your work, but I had to comment on this one. MAGNIFICENT! Good look at Ragnaid's annoyances when doing surgery, and a good surgery overall.

UPDATE ALREADY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE PLEASE I BEG OF YOU ON BENT KNEES. I GROVEL IN THE GROUND ASKING FOR YOU TO UPDATE! IT'S BEEN 4 FREAKING YEARS DAMMIT!

Plot armour: Good.

Plot Ammo: BAD. VERY BAD.

While Isara was a main character in the anime and games, her Plot armour wore off, and she was sniped by plot bullets. No one called for a medic, because it's GODDAMN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!

In that exact mission, I had Nancy (Weakest girl I ever saw) take a tank round to the face, and she, conscious enough to say something along the lines of 'help me', lived through the medic's help. Isara took a sniper round and she's dead before she hits the floor. Why no one called for a medic, I don't know. Was everyone shocked, or coming off their adrenaline rush? I'm saying this, because coming off a rush, it's one hell of a crash.

And, Regarding Nancy, don't give me the 'She was wearing Armour' thing. This shell was armor piercing. It was tank shell vs scout. Tank wins. So, a tank shell, armour piercing, headshots a weak secondary scout, and she lives. A sniper from about 100 metres away snipes Isara, and she exits, stage left.

So, Isara died, and everyone grieves about it and she gets the World's first plane named after her (even if there is a typo.)

But still...

She died in VC 1. She shows up in VC 3.

Logical solution: She's the Highlander, no doubt about it.

4 years and no update? Not cool bro.

You mind telling me why you have not updated in 3 YEARS!? I love this story with a passion and you are depriving me of a good fanfic of Valkyria Chronicles! I beg of you to find the time to update please!

Update this story please for the love of the Divines or whatever deity you worship!

LOVE this story! I just stumbled on your story a few days ago (well yes, i am a late VC enthusiast). I've seen the game's story as well -not playing it directly though- and the death of Isara has been troubling me ever since. I like the character but it wasn't really the death that annoys me, but the fact that the producers seems simply let her die, no medic, no first aid attempt, nothing. Though I admit I much enjoyed the original story as well.

I'm really glad to found your story as it covers more than just an "if" story where Isara survived, but also "a possibility" that runs along without making significant changes to the original story. And also the efforts shown by Squad7 (especially her nii-san/big brother, welkin) to save Isara's live.

In case you work on this story again I really looking forward for the story's finale(preferably with Isara can meet her big brother again :p)
