Excellent fluff! Not twee, and realistic in the way the characters are depicted. I smiled at the scene where the nanny announced that Eldarion went to sleep with Shadowfax in his arms. Added to my favourites.

Hehehehe. It's actually quite tidy under Eldarion's bed, by my standards. ;-) Methinks Aragorn needs some more practice in putting little children to bed - the nanny could clearly teach him a thing or two! What I particularly liked, though, was the way Arwen did /not/ join in the childhood reminiscences. That was so appropriate, given that she's been an adult for a few thousand years and probably can't even remember...

BTW, remember what I said about present participles?

The image of a grinning Smaug sitting on the throne was pretty funny. Very cute! D

Normally, I do not get into or read Eldarion stories, but this one was brilliant. I loved the innocence of the child and the fatherly role that you portrayed. You have the makings of being a great writer! Please do more of these ficlets.
