Heavy sigh...THEY MADE IT! Well that was certainly a roller coaster but thank you for writing it and sharing this painfully beautiful story.

Well shit! That was hard to read! You go into this confrontation hoping that it’ll be a quick, easy “I’m sorry” “No, I’m sorry” and wham bam they’re back together. But they don’t do anything easy b/c that’s not them. Looking forward to reading from Alex’s perspective.

I love that the questions that Ava asked Gene about Alex were the same questions that she asked Alex about Gene and how their answer where very similar. The mirroring in this is just so good.

I just want to cry. That wedding scene just gutted me!

I’m a huge opera and Shakespeare nerd and a majority of the plot lines would end happily if the main characters would just sit down and talk it out. Most of the time the not talking seems like a lazy plot point. But here with Gene and Alex it is so believable b/c they both come with so much emotional baggage and histories of loss and hurt. And you do an excellent job of outlining and exploring why these two knuckleheads don’t just sit down and talk it out. I’ve loved this fic so far - it’s such downward spiral of angsty emotions and it just hurts to see them both suffering together but apart. So spectacularly good! I might not comment on every chapter, but please know that I am thoroughly enjoying this anda so thankful that you wrote it and shared it.

I know it's been a while since you wrote this but I have only recently found this and finally got to read it today. What an amazing story, gave me goosebumps and I felt the angst myself and I loved the ending. Brilliantly written. Thanks x

I was so happy when i got to the end. Loved this chapter and the whole story.

I found the double point of view style a tad repetitive but essentially this was a really lovely story and I loved the way the ending mirrored the start.

oh what a lovely romantic way to end this story, like the way we started it but like the quantium leap ending when the past has been put right and it is the way it should be. thank you.

Thank you so much for finishing this story at last! I've been on tenterhooks form one update to the next, all these months. But the ending was worth waiting for. Yet again, the alternating POVs are so perfectly in character and heighten the tension as we see the reaction of each to the other, while we wait in dread lest either should put a foot or a word wrong. But how right that in the end, it's Charlie who unwittingly breaks the ice for them by getting Gene to say the magic words while Alex overhears. Then that magical ending, with the wedding of true lovers. Oh, yes, and the smut was smoking hot too. Thank you again and again!

Lovely resolution to this story - the detail was fantastic and the smut, as ever, was hot but emotional at the same time.

And I loved the use of Paul Young - one of my favourite singers of the Eighties.

I love your writing when Gene describes Alex's eyes. Squee material.

To be honest, I fully expected the last chapter to have a fair amount of angst. I'm so happy it wasn't the case. It is absolutely lovely, a perfect ending to one of the very best fanfics I've ever read. I did love all that delicious, addictive angst that came before but we (and Gene and Alex of course) needed our happy, fluffy ending. Oh, and the smut was smoking hot and excellently written. Thank you so much for this. I hope this won't be the last fic from you. :)
