Very nice. I like how you get inside Lupin's head, and portray him as a real, thinking - if angsty, which is fine - person. Too many fics paint him as hopelessly wounded and helpless ... your prose is realistic, vibrant, and touching.

Poor Lupin, left on his own and the metaphor, wow. This was so heartfelt and sad in an understated way. Very good.

I think its fantastic! You have a wonderful writing ability, and you use it well. I haven't read any of your other fics, so forgive me for this next question: Have you ever tried writing a longer story? If you started one, I'm sure it would be great! (and btw, to make italics show up, type it in word and save it as a web page, then upload that)
