I’m finding this first chapter confusing.
— If Sookie was so tired & weak that she needed Sam’s help to get in & out of his truck and — WTF? — help her take a bath, how could she possibly have been up to waiting tables, even poorly.
— She has two female roommates. Why would she ask Sam to help her bath considering he’s always crushing on her & she’s never fallen for him?
— Since she’s obviously been with Eric for some time, why would Sam suggest having Bill — her betrayer many times over — turn her? Seriously, eternity with the creepy douche having control over her as her maker?! WTF, Sam?

I’m curious about a spell to alter her weight surviving her turning.
