Reviews for The Times, They Are a-Changin'
SoulReader94 chapter 4 . 5/30/2013
This story is what I hope Elisa and Goliath's wedding would be. You did a great job and I enjoyed ever bit of it and chapter three was pretty funny.
Marcus S. Lazarus chapter 4 . 3/22/2012
Another excellent story in this continually fascinating series, to say the least.

For some reason, the idea of Lexington almost challenging a telemarketer to a fight is far more hilarious than it should be, even in the humour of everyone’s reactions to the news of Goliath and Elisa getting married (With the exception of Raynard’s doubts, anyway) was somewhat overshadowed by the question of why Duval’s making that kind of deal with Xanatos; while I could understand him wanting to avoid inter-Illuminati conflict between Xanatos and Grimm, that doesn’t really explain why he’s COMPLETELY blocking Xanatos from providing the gargoyles with additional legal aid (And that spell he requested for the future raises a few worrying possibilities).

Still, Demona’s change of heart- no matter how reluctantly she’s forced to acknowledge the need to change in the first place- comes across very well, beginning with the moment when she’s forced to acknowledge that humans saved her from other humans BECAUSE she was a gargoyle before going on to look at her overhearing the PIT’s conversation about her, providing a completely unbiased source who nevertheless targets everything that’s defined her and the flaws for doing so with no possible ulterior motive.

A part of me wishes that we’d had more of a chance to see Bronx talking during the switch, but the ‘Night of Two Moons’ thing both seems like an interesting way to answer the question of the inconsistency in gargoyle breeding seasons and a potential plot point for the future (I almost have to wonder if that’s another example of the self-fulfilling time travel in the series; someone went back to trigger that event in order to ensure that the Avalon Clan were born, you know), to say nothing of the exceptional unreal scene for Philip Marsden (Particularly Goliath’s speech at the end; a neat way to suggest, even without explicitly saying it, that Anne and Bethany are already clan despite how new they are to the ‘family’).

The preparations for the wedding were all well planned-out with some excellent moments and thoughts on character development, and the subsequent bachelor parties were highly amusing reading, particularly Claw’s ‘attack’ on Xanatos (There was also something humorous about Demona’s attempt to lose herself in alcohol, even if I acknowledge that substance abuse on that scale isn’t really ‘funny’).

Plus, of course, the wedding itself was excellently written, with the ceremony serving as an intriguing blend of customs while also including such unusual complications as the jammed door or Bronx’s ‘gift’, culminating in a very effective union of the two characters.

Keep up the good work!

(Just a minor note; in ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’, red was for the command officers, while security and operations officers wore gold)
I am Telgar chapter 4 . 6/6/2010
Don't you think that ""Sold" waiting to be pickup by owner" sign on his forehead might be too small. I figure a sign that cover his front and back might be more the correct size. I hope Elisa and Goliath do have a ve little one. I just hope it does not have a pregnancy of ten that would raise some questions. Very nice fanfiction. I hope to read more from your bio page.

White Owl chapter 4 . 7/22/2005
Ok, im totally loving all these storys, im slowly making my way threw them all. But anyway I couldnt help but coment when I noticed you missed the end of that old wedding saying. It goes, "Somthing Old, Somthing New, Somthing Barrowed, Somthing Blue, Stick a Penny in your shoe." What is was is the bride would put a penny minted in her birth year in her shoe for alittle exstra luck if I remeber corectly. Just felt like passing it along. But really great stories!
Inuyasha Kagome Fanatic chapter 4 . 8/8/2004
Hey I can't believe this fanfiction only has 18 reviews, its great!
Emerald chapter 4 . 8/11/2003
Great story! Only one flaw, the rice. Throwing rice at weddings is no longer allowed because birds eat the rice. Then when they drink water they explode. Still the story was really great. I read almost nonstop til I finished all four chapters.

Charmeleon chapter 4 . 7/6/2003
This is my first day reading Gargoyles fanfics. I really enjoyed reading this story. I usually stick to the Yugioh, Pokemon, Escaflowne, DBZ or Gundam Wing stories, but this one was very good.
LindaIshtar chapter 4 . 5/1/2003

Another brilliant two chapters...definately worth the wait.
Rosepixie chapter 4 . 5/12/2002
That was the most fantastic story. Thank you so very, very much for writing it! You're right, the little things that went wrong will be the ones they remember. I'm impressed with the details you gave. And I can't wait to read more stories in this universe. There are several 'mysteries' that were in there that I *definatly* want to see solved. I love your descriptions of Owen. He's one of my favourite characters and you paint him beautifully. Thank you so much for writing these stories! Reading the last part of this one definatly made my day!
