this is great, I love that you have depicted the...'romance' (for want of a better word) between the two as, well, unromantic. It was a strange relationship and I think this is a good insight into why Fuschia rejected Steerpike so badly sometimes, and then clug to him at other times.

Gosh I haven't found any new fic for Gormenghast in ages!

and I haven't read Gormenghast in ages so I liked all the details you put in

- such as lord groans madness after the fire in the library and fushia's scribbled wall-poetry -

I enjoyed this fic immensely, i think your handle on the dynamics between Steerpike and fushia is brilliant.

yes i think i'd flee too if i realised steerpike loved me! ha ha

Wow, I can't really think of much to say, but I really enjoyed this. You got the complicated nature of both characters just right. Beautiful. :)
