This was probably the most adorable and well ended story ever. I just loved it that much.
Redeems Trent a bit (even though he's a douche) and makes him sorta likable. Well done!

What a great story! I love your characterisation of Trent. All that hyperactive energy, his brusque manner and hidden history geekiness (being a history geek myself, I totally support this geekdom!), always being in a hurry, wow! You stay true to what little we saw to him in the movie and expand on it, turning him into a truly awesome character. And I adore your Miles just as much and then you actually go and make their friendship/possibly more work so well. Great job!

Okay, I'm falling in love with your Trent. I'd love to see a sequel to this, although it's a great one-shot. I just enjoy seeing how normal people interpret what's going on, and what the rest of the world is up to while Sam and Mikaela are off with the 'bots.

Excellent character development for maybe five minutes of screen time, tops. I'm glad this was just a friendship, and you didn't develop it into any sex stuff. I think you would have changed the whole tone of the piece.
