LOL, my first thought was that Ozymandias was sick of walking everywhere while in costume. Come to think of it, he's the super-rich one, where was HIS pimpmobile?

I first read your story years ago, and the scene that stayed with me, that popped up in my brain when I was looking up this fic again, was the things coming out of the dark to bent over the splattered body on the pavement with bloody jaws.

As in almost every good zombie outbreak story ever, humans are the real monsters.

okay, I just have to get this out of my system but... THIS IS AWESOME.

First off, the plot is cool. Zombie!AUs probably aren't all that uncommon, but what makes yours stand out is that you pulled it off. I LOVE the style of your writing-it's original, and there're hardly any spelling/grammar mistakes. Also, you kept Rorschach in character, which can be surprisingly difficult when one strays off the beaten path with him in a fic. When I started reading this I was expecting something along the lines of Resident Evil or Day of the Dead... meaning, once you got bitten you were infected and turned into a soulless THING with nothing but the need to feed etc etc etc...

When that DIDN'T happen with Rorschach I was thinking "Wow, serious willpower" because, yanno, it's HIM... but the basic zombie premise has definitely been twisted into something very unique and I admire it. And like it. And am busy attempting to find a way to sidestep my Internet restrictions and go to LJ because I am fangirling this AU so effing hard right now...

okay, okay, I've stopped gushing. Side note: I never really noticed any bad science, but that might be because I haven't passed 9th grade Biology yet... *shrugs* whatever. GOODFIC TRUMPS REALITY.

Zombie AU might be a popular story motif, but this is certainly one of the most well done ones! While I was hoping for an epic ending to the zombie fiasco (maybe them finding out WHY the zombie people were created in the first place), you did a good job of showing the stages of panic as people worked through the horror of living with the undead.

I like how Dan and Rorschach are drawn closer to each other because of this crisis. Also, that Rorschach's strengthened bond with Dan, coupled with the emotional toughness achieved by accepting his zombified state, are the reasons that Rorschach is able to turn away from a very dark path that he goes down in The Watchmen. That was a good way of tying this story into the canon (or the canon as it would be, if it were shaking off the effects of a city-wide zombie crisis).

I noticed that you wrote the story in 2009, I only found it last night, and read it all in one go, a real page turner.

Great idea well writen, and I loved the interplay between the two of them, it worked on so many levels.

I will have to find the others in this series. You have me hooked on your well thought out AU.

I first read this on your LJ, but I don't have an account there so...Words can't express how much I love this fic.

You've written Dan and Rorschach so well and IC, even the slashiness doesn't seem forced. My favourite part of the whole fic would have to be the post-Roche confrontation scene, the way it just builds and builds and we see Rorschach come back from the brink.

Fantastic story! I was riveted to my computer screen the entire time it took me to read this.

I'm glad I've finally read the original zombie!AU fic now. This was a great story, and even though it's a plot that's been done often, you've handled it really well and put a nice Watchmen touch on it. It was also neat seeing how the Roche case could've went down and the little changes throughout the story to the characters.

More win. Seriously.

Anyway, this is...beyond words. Beyond 'amazing' or 'brilliant' or even 'epic'.

Out of the thousands-not an exaggeration-of fics, in every fandom I have read, this is the best. Simply the best. Nothing too weak or too strong or faltering or bad characterization or /anything/ like that.

This is the first non-tragedy that has made me cry.

How can you have zombies and Watchmen and vague-ish Dan/Ror and make it work? By rights, this should suck. It does not. The writing was just amazing all the way through, everyone in character despite, y'know, ZOMBIE AU. Ozzy a wee bit bitchy, but then again, a zombie tried to eat him, and people can get tetchy in that kind of situation.

I don't really know what else to say without just going all fangirl-y. I adore this fic, makes me want to read the book again. Now I just gotta steal it back from my brother...
