You're doing a good job of sticking to canon in regards to Maiko, but you're letting us get a clearer picture of Zuko's very different relationships with the two very different women in his life. Katara seems be more accepting of Zuko's duty to the nation, which is going to be what I'm assuming is the groundwork for future Zutara. Very well done! I like how you show Katara's natural compassion and empathy by her reaching out to the citizens and speaking their language, so to speak. I'm sure she finds it a challenge trying to balance her political life with her more relaxed, informal one, but the duels probably help relieve some of the tension, i would imagine. But i wonder if it's going to start wearing on her, having to 'lose' all the time. Well, keep up the awesome work! I can't wait to see where you're taking this. |

She's not so much as depressed as she is an..."intense conservative," I suppose, and you play that very well into your story! I can't wait to see what's gonna happen in the next couple of chapters. This is getting more and more interesting by the second! ;) |
