| Little Rose chapter 5 . 8/8/2018 Hey, guys, I noticed something, so I have to ask: Why in most Sea Patrol fanfics, even from different authors, is mentioned that Kate came from England with her Mum and her Dad was left behind? I watched all Sea Patrol episodes, and I never noticed or heard it, but then again, English is not my first language. I remember once some guys on a boat (third season, "Pearls before Swine") made fun of her posh (?) accent, even Spider and Buffer laughed. I can not tell if her accent is different than other character's accents, although it seems to me that Kate McGregor speaks with Australian accent, not the English one, but I repeat, English is my 2nd language and I find many authors here mention she is from England, so have I missed something? I think it is too much coincidence that so many writers here say she is from England, often mention she came at the age of 9, no contact with mother, she was neglected by her mother, some mention an opal miner,mother's partner and probably there is a reason for that, but I never seen it in the series. I hope someone will let me know. |
