The premise was actually really interesting. I could definitely see some merit in testing captain-lieutenant relationships in a time like this.

My only gripe in the story is the whole "only one pair isn't having sex"

A) Yachiru and Kenpachi... She's (technically) definitely more than 20 tears old but... Just no.

B) Komamura and Iba is something I didn't ever want to think about

C) Ukitake and... Both his "lieutenants" ... Just doesn't seem practical, and really doesn't fit Ukitake as a person

D) Soi Fon and Omaeda... I've got a feeling the Gotei's leading feminist isn't going to just have random sex with the fat, annoying, rich guy who she seems to have almost nothing but loathing for

But, as I said. Only gripe. Writing's fantastic, romance doesn't feel rushed, chemistry is there, and characters aren't absurdly OOC. What's not to love?

Great buildup and chemistry between the characters. Also, very creative, without crossing the line to ridiculous. I laughed at the idea of Matsumoto and Hitsugaya as manga artists, but it worked. I also like the explanations you gave on soul burials and why Hitsugaya wouldn't grow any more. I'm always impressed when authors don't age Hitsugaya and address him as he's portrayed currently. Hope you write another HitsuMatsu story sometime!

Nice story. I like the depth of the relationship described. The tests for the captain/lieutant pairs were interesting, though Yamamoto picked a wrong time to hold them.

But: You said only one pair didn't have sex together. You gave me a really sick mental image of Kenpachi and Yachiru. I hope you only forgot about them.

XD haha, here I am! Reviewing! That was GREAT! I love how you built the relationship little by little. People, alot of times, think that, just cause Matsumoto is a hot woman, the relationship needs to go RIGHT to the sex scene...Not true.

I just LOVED how you did the kissing scene! The trust issue was wonderful as well. I don't imagine the manga idea, but I DO think that if they ever started a...thing..., Matsumoto would be the...teacher, if you will...I liked how you set that scene up. Plus, the manga kissing deductions were a nice touch as well...

I have to be honest.. I don't like the Kuchki/renji pairing implications, because he is my favorite captain. but it totally works for the story and it clever and I could read it again and again.
