I like this story from a dog's point of view. I like how at first I thought he was a person until you revealed that he was a dog, and how everybody seamed to be friendly to the dog. I also liked how they planned a surprise party for Hawkeye, and it turned out that he knew all along.

I truly love these doggie narrations! It's also cool to see Hawkeye getting a surprise party, especially since he doesn't say much about his birthday. I had always thought he had an aversion to celebrating it, but I don't know if that came from fan fics or the show for sure. Excellent work! Please pen more of these tales

When I first saw 'woof' in quotation marks, I was like, 'huh? what?' Then I realized that it was from a dog's perspective.

Which is completely, totally, out of the blue and original.

And you pulled is off splendidly! The comment about peas (kind of yuck, but I didn't want to offend the nice lady) was funny! It reminded me of myself, I didn't like peas as a kid but had to eat them so my relatives wouldn't be offended...

Typical Hawkeye, knowing about a surprise party in his honor! And Charles was hilarious, trying to call Fido 'Wolfgang', having a magical box, and acting like a rag doll! (Sorry, when "Charles nearly threw himself between Pierce and the door", I was reminded of a giant rag doll)

All in all, one of my favorites!

Wow, that was a different take on a story, told from the POV of a dog! :) I love how you told everything from Fido's observations. I wonder what everyone at Hawkeye's party thought when he pranced in with Fido? I'm with Hawk and Fido, the name Wolfgtang didn't suit the poor dog. :)

I thought it was really cool to have the story from a dog's perspective - I was not expecting that at all. It was very original, I've never read anything like it. It was a really sweet story but you had some pretty hilarious moments in there too; I particularly enjoyed the dog's dismay at being called Wolfgang! I loved the whole thing.

I gotta tell ya, I don't usually read anything that's not H/M, but I love this story! (Hope you don't mind, but I'm gonna print it out and put it in my binder I have for all of my favorite short fan-fics!) Awesome job, everyone was very well in character. I loved it!

This is going straight in to my favourites. When I realised this was about a stray dog I was so worried that something would happen to him right at the end like when the little dog was run over in the series. I am so glad it was a happy ending and I bet he got a great big slice of birthday cake. :-D

What a wonderful concept! And I loved Charles' bit! It was so charming. The part about him swallowing a dictionary was priceless. Of course Hawkeye would figure out the party. But he was so in character as he talked to the dog. Everyone was, really. Great perspective!
