Izzy chapter 1 . 5/22 I know you said you are done with T/V but, honestly, the way you wrote them is unlike any other T/V fic out there. You wrote them so beautifully and real and I'd love to see more fics about them, even if it's just a short one chapter fic (maybe is Vic's reaction to finding out it was Elizabeth the other girl Ted slept with - maybe Simon accidentally slips off that information during a night in with friends lol). I dont know, anything you come up with i'm sure it'll be incredible and while I enjoy your Dom and Louis new fics, I always tend to go back to these T/V series, the ones that started it all. Anyways, big fan of your work and just wanted to mention that! |
LulaRose chapter 40 . 5/8 First let's pour one out for Auggie. May he rest in Peace. Plus was not at all expecting that time jump, so much has happened. And also you made my heart skip with the "petite redhead who emerged from the bedroom" business. I was like, "WTF?! I just spent 3 whole days reading for it to end like this?!" But then I read some more and realized it was Lily and I was like ,"Phew!" what a relief, lol! I love her close bond with Teddy. I always saw him as the big brother of Harry's bio kids so this is always nice to see. And I love the idea of James and Albus being a bit wild. After watching Victoire have to ask for permission to breathe it's a nice change. The hooligans. and you so captured the feeling of moving. So so bittersweet. You really nailed the whole feel of life changing and moving on. You were being so vague about Teddy and Vic, I basically just had to read this chapter twice once to make sure they were alright and then again to actually absorb it. Thank goodness they are still together. Our Victoire is not only engaged, but in Australia digging stuff up! I knew she wouldn't be a healer, but I'm surprised. I said I couldn't see her doing the runes career, but that was whiney self indulgent Victoire, I think new post Simon wedding Victoire could handle it. Young Simon is in BOSTON with TWO kids! I miss him. Louis, mon frere, what is going on there? Juliette huh? Poor girl. Hit by a car, imagine being a witch and dying because you got hit by a car. Poor Louis. I hope he and Sarah don't get back together. Petty I know, but still...I almost feel bad for Sarah now, because of how much I don't like her...almost. Also I would love a little fic fic about these two getting together. Juliette and Louis that is. Dom has a desk job? Who are these people? Durrin, my dear, nice to see you hanging around and Whit, huh? Okay. And what is Whit up to these days? What's her job situation and I'm so happy to see they're still friends. Here's the solution. Go buy a pretty white dress. Call the essentials up to the ministry, say the words, then go somewhere and party. Boom. Done. What an ending so much has happened in that time jump. I'm leaving this here for tonight, but I'm so excited to start on your Dom stories tomorrow! |
LulaRose chapter 39 . 5/8 I'm so happy Victoire is going get a lovely wedding. There's nothing wrong with a quickie Ministry wedding, in fact if I ever decided to get married, it's definitely route I would go down. Much like Teddy, I'm very simple and absolutely hate a fuss. But I couldn't see Victoire having one and being happy about it. Maybe they can happily compromise with an outdoor wedding with lots of flowers and only absolute family and friends? Whatever they do I know it will be beautiful. And Caleb with the good beard. Didn't Stupac have one too? Love it and it's such a thing when boys leave school, they go straight for the facial hair, lol. Rachael and Caroline are. a. riot. OMFG. I mean sad backstory truly, but what fun they are! Caroline using her spy charm and Rachael spying out of her peripherial vision, HAHA! I wish I was at that wedding! And I feel a bit better about Simon and Susan now. I was SO worried (I still am worried. They're just so young and they're just not Jily or Frank and Alice so I'm nervous about all this) but I am starting believe that they are really truly in love and it's not just baby induced shenanigans. The kids might actually be alright. Celia, Celia, Celia. What is your purpose in life? Is this who you wanna be? The girl who shows up someplace she has no business being just to spy on people who don't even like you? She just loves making it seem like Teddy was cheating on her emotionally with Victoire, but the boy couldn't have been more unaware of his feelings if he were dead. He was honestly so into Celia it was insane. And she has the nerve to stand there and question his loyalty? And what does that say about her that she would stay with someone who she "knew" had feelings for someone else? She's so manipulative she doesn't even see how she comes across. She basically wanted to gloat and then realized she couldn't, because Teddy upgraded and so she then chose to try and be a victim. Classic Celia. Always the Victim. And Teddy, we've all been wondering what she saw in her for so long and honest to Merlin, we don't know. Victoire has grown so much over literally the last 24 hours. When she first saw Celia and started freaking out I was like, "Oh God here we go a tantrum." But she pulled it back so well and then coming over to the bar and drawing a line in the sand nice and clear to let Celia know that the BS between the three of them was done and they were through with her nonsense was fantastic. Plus, Vic telling Simon she'd invite Susan to their wedding and he could be her plus one, lols! And tricking Teddy into dancing! and yes Vic, he is obsessed. It had been a while between drinks and your boy was getting thirsty. I honestly can't remember the last New Years they had. I've read so much in the last couple days, I can't even recall. I know they were apart, but that's it. lol. The past is the past though and they have a bright future. |
LulaRose chapter 38 . 5/8 I also forgot to say that Victoire sneaks out like an absolute nerd, but I love it. Plus, her saying she might be more up for round two than Teddy! Ha! The little Madam! Bill and Fleur are taking a tiny baby step back! Can I get a hell yeah? HELL YEAH! Sarah got her feet back under the table (probably tentatively so, but) Though Dom is probably playing for peace right now. Trying to be the bigger person. I do highly recommend that movie I mentioned it's very good. Teddy/Simon, I've said it a hundred times and I'll say it again. These two are gold. I can't believe one of them is getting married AND having a kid. I've also said that a million times, but it's still such a shock, lol. Last thing I was expecting. Rachael needs to stay forever, I love her. There's absolutely no pretense with her, just down to earth AF. What you see is what you get and I love it. She's kind of life Simon that way. And the Ghost of Manipulative Girlfriend Past might make an appearance? She would show up at a wedding where nobody actually likes her just spy on Teddy wouldn't she? UGH. |
LulaRose chapter 37 . 5/8 A chapter 36 add on: I always get so caught up in what happens at the end of the chapter I always leave out something in my review which is. I had to lol at Victoire asking herself why she didn't grab something warmer than her cloak, because I was thinking the exact same thing lol, I was like, "Put on a coat! It's winter!" And I always just picture "Dress robes" as suits, it's so weird to me otherwise. Now on to 37: Also how funny is it that they hate the Dragon's Breath pub SO much, but it's now the backdrop for all the events, lol! They are ALWAYS there! I am SO SO SO SO SO SO proud of Victoire for sneaking out and just being bold and doing what she felt was right for once and not staying locked in her ivory tower! Ugh, yes keep this up Vic! I am so happy they finally had their night. Though they kept say, "Can't fall asleep." I was like "SET AN ALARM KIDS! YOU HAVE A WEDDING TOMORROW YOU NEED TO REST!" But I've learned these two aren't really planners. They just fly off the cuff. |
LulaRose chapter 36 . 5/8 "Be careful who you vent to." A very valuable life lesson. People don't forget what you say to them. And the lack of awareness between Victoire and Dominque must be about the size of a canyon. How on Earth can Vic think Teddy just shrugged this off? Does she know that boy at all? And still thinking she's right to be angry he didn't blow off his best mates stag do when she knows good and well that he overscheduled on a complete human accident and Dominique stealing Victoire's poster out of her magazine, not knowing it's not cool to randomly bring up an ex especially when it was an iffy break up and then to even remember going off in the common room. I would have thought Bill and Fleur would have socialized these girls more, lol, they are exhausting. Though it is big of Dominique to tolerate Louis, because I don't know if I'd have it in me. I am glad Teddy and Victoire made up after some initial frostiness from Victoire. Though I seriously wish Bill and Fleur would back off Victoire a bit. I know Bill was overprotective in the Quidditch World Cup article (in my head canon that's the kick off of a 4 year slow build) ,but he and Fleur are helicopter parents. Bill was raised by Molly, so I don't like it, but I'd understand why he'd mistakenly think this was okay, but Fleur you're supposed to be a kick butt, clever, modern French woman, what is your game here? The smother mother routine is probably why their kids are so immature. And this is making me want a chocolate souffle. I never had one, but it sounds delish! |
LulaRose chapter 35 . 5/8 Durrin to the rescue! I knew he was a good one! I knew it! Let's make them bros for life (he's definitely gonna need one now that Simon will be busy being a family man). And speaking of Simon, he missed the rest of the Stag! Oh No! I hope someone let's Simon know Teddy didn't just ditch him. I feel so bad for Teddy. He really didn't do anything wrong and he just keeps beating himself up. Elizabeth seems like she's going to make an excellent healer. (I know Victoire thinks she wants to be a healer, but I just cannot see her in the that capacity. I can see her working for Gringotts in a non curse breaking department though.) |
LulaRose chapter 34 . 5/8 That stag party A! A Goblin Brawl...inspired. Drunk!Teddy is now an absolute fave, lol. The fact that he didn't recognize Stu, lolz! Durrin, is such a nice addition to this ensemble, it's like he's just a normal boy who's fallen into the middle of sheer madness and is just doing his best to get through, but he fits in so well! And he'ds made me think twice about Stu. Going off Vic's story and Elizabeth's he seems like an absolute jerk, but he's so right we only have their sides. Simon's having a boy. I still honestly haven't wrapped my head around any of this lol, but he seems happy. "The old must make way for the new. And we, in the middle, must be ready to greet it." I have to keep reminding myself of that. It's a quote from the Durrells in Corfu, great show BTW! |
LulaRose chapter 33 . 5/8 Victoire, dear, and I say this with love...grow up. And I cannot excuse Ron's behavior either. He was a terrible friend to Harry because he was jealous. Harry had to deal with the absolute worst shit in the world and Ron would storm off and turn his back whenever his jealousy got to much and the last time he abandoned Harry, he also abandoned Hermione, his supposed love in the middle of a war. So no. No to Ron getting a pass because of Harry's "stigma" being jealous of someone for being famous because their parents were murdered by an absolute psycho at the age of 21 is a double no from me. No. NO NO. Although spot on with passive aggressiveness being a Weasley trait. Molly Sr. anybody? |
LulaRose chapter 32 . 5/8 Okay two quick things: 1. Bill needs an office. 2. Teddy is right, Victoire is childish. I know she's disappointed, but does she not understand that Simon's stag IS more important than her birthday. Which she herself has admitted wasn't a milestone. She will have more birthdays and Simon won't (hopefully) have anymore stags. and I lied here's the third thing: 3. Dom has the feels and it's obvious! |
LulaRose chapter 31 . 5/8 Teddy you sweet simple fool. He does throw himself into relationships doesn't he? I'm glad Simon ended up being honest with him. I would have been so furious if he had skipped out on him for Vic's birthday, even with the extra special festivities planned. I hope she understands his conflict. I am always a fan of these two boys having bro time. Though wedding robe fittings? They grow up so fast! |
LulaRose chapter 30 . 5/8 OH TEDDY! Missed the fittings and planned something on Victoire's birthday! Silly boy! However round of applause for calling out Hazel. What is her deal? And actually what is the deal with her and Nate? They would have had to spend Christmas together for her to know. Are they back or should I say were they back together, because surely he would have ended it with her after her little performance. I feel like the hospital has eaten up so much of her time she no longer has hobbies or maybe she's like book 1 Hermione who has never had anything going on besides being right and best and always wanting everyone to know she's right and best. Because why else would you sit on that for THREE DAYS and then come in and do that? What was that for? Old Durrin is growing on me, I won't lie. Dom needs to learn to read the room though. So very blunt, but so very awkward. |
LulaRose chapter 29 . 5/8 Bill is on like a 10 and probably needs to bring it down to a 3. Anytime I see an overprotective father, I just see guilt. What were you getting up to back in the day. Plus, she's literally days away from being 18 and he's like thisclose to gluing her to his side. Also he needs to work on his French he's letting the team down. |
LulaRose chapter 28 . 5/8 I love how fancy Christmas Eve and Christmas is in France and I love how Fleur still carries that with her. Louis, my good son, you have no leg to stand on. Just grovel and pick your sister, you're twins. No girl is worth losing that bond over. I do think they need to work this out in their own time, feelings were deeply hurt, loyalties betrayed. That takes time, they shouldn't kiss and make up just because everybody is uncomfortable. It's an uncomfortable situation. |
LulaRose chapter 27 . 5/7 The Dominique/Louis/Sarah situation is just like the movie 'The Edge of Seventeen' and in all honesty just like the main character in that movie Nadine, Dom has every right to be angry. Dom doesn't seem like she has very many friends and to have her best friend sneaking around with her brother, is such a betrayal to her. Because Louis could literally have anyone and he's deliberately pursuing a relationship with someone who is significant to Dom that if it went wrong, which is probably will, would cost both of them her. Even if they all clear the air, I don't think things will ever be the same between any of them. It'll always be the elephant in the room. I also still don't really feel Louis/Sarah as a couple. Maybe if and I've said this before, if I had seen then interact without Sarah as Natalie's friend and Dom's best friend (though she's gone behind both their backs) or as Louis POV with them interacting and this relationship growing, but I don't feel like it's worth the risk. Teddy/Victoire. Gosh, it must be SO frustrating to be watched like that ALL the time. I'm getting frustrated just reading about it. I don't understand why Fleur and Bill are being so weird about Teddy though they've known him his whole life. He's family. They should trust him and them. The girls with the mistletoe was cute and the supportive relatives were also funny! |
