What a sweet little story! This is a scene that should have been in the series. For such an important plot point, and such a personal secret of Naruto's that caused him so much angst, Kishimoto just inexplicably glossed over that in his series. So I am ever so happy whenever I find a fanfiction that deals with the subject in such a natural and touching way. Thanks for the great read.

Well, that was an awesome little story, it is a great example of the status reveal story and it has some awesome friendship bonding fluff in it to. Good luck with whatever you are doing nowadays and thanks for this story.

Great story but I'm pretty sure Shikamaru figured out Naruto was a jinchuriki sooner than that (just didn't know the word at the time). Naruto basically told him, he used Kyuubi's chakra publicly and I guess there was a meeting about it not long after the Chuunin exam to which Shikaku was most probably a part. I think that when a jinchuriki shows that he can use the power that can be either a great weapon for the safety of the village or a threat, people would start to be interested and watch him.
