DarkBeta chapter 6 . 6/7/2009 teenager in house disappearing food (and milk). love the detail about Penny's mispelling on the cast! don't know if you've ever noticed an anime titled Ruruoni Kenshin (Wanderer Kenshin, sort of.) at one point the hero returns from some exhausting and self-sacrificing journey to the home of the girl who's taken him in and announces the equivalent of "I'm home!" at the gate. later he tells her, he's never in his life had the opportunity to say that before. Mac's "Milk run, Sam," has a little of that feeling to me. all those years of never expecting it, and now, family! gratefully, db |
DarkBeta chapter 5 . 6/7/2009 that's so Jack. ". . . that's alcohol abuse!" figures he'd have his own personal interpretation of the phrase. (bet he never forgets the degreaser again!) lovely character development, both Jack's horror and Mac's temper. gratefully, db |
DarkBeta chapter 4 . 6/7/2009 after Harry, Mac has to have a special touch with curmudgeons. (or maybe just a lot of patience.) this has an excellent flow from the hilarious first line to the gentler humor of the farmer's ending response. gratefully, db |
DarkBeta chapter 3 . 6/7/2009 ah, a moment of relaxation. the parts we never get to see! love the bristly insecurity of, "Do you wish I had?" gratefully, db |
DarkBeta chapter 2 . 6/7/2009 fever from the inside . . . . br. i like his association with/longing for the sea. Mac goes into the mountains a lot, but he chooses (often enough) to live on the coast. (Venice Beach, houseboat, and so on.) thank you for quick slice of experience! db |
DarkBeta chapter 1 . 6/7/2009 I love this glimpse of MacGyver's empathy, and a refugee's pride. Thank you. gratefully, db ps - i tried to review "Extra Bonus Scenes" but wasn't allowed to do it twice. so i'll take this chance to say, if reviews encourage you to write, expect a floodtide of them! |
stareagle chapter 6 . 4/8/2009 A delightful unusual story - I enjoyed this refreshing perspective. Fun drabble. MacGyver's view of the world is delightfully unique! |
Niente Zero chapter 1 . 3/28/2009 Furthermore, it is never a good time to give up coffee. Beautiful descriptive writing. |
Niente Zero chapter 6 . 3/28/2009 Can't say I normally appreciate drabbles properly. But I really liked this suite. Just a lovely small bunch of word pictures that made me smile - not that they were universally happy, but they were universally clear and delicate. |
Lothithil chapter 6 . 3/21/2009 LOL! Took me a moment... but I get it now. Wonderful! What a wonderful, brilliant series of drabbles! You rock! |
Lothithil chapter 5 . 3/20/2009 HA HA HA! Serves Jack right... cutting corners on maintenance! |
Lothithil chapter 4 . 3/20/2009 *giggles* Well said. A wine-lover would have to respect a remark like that! |
Lothithil chapter 3 . 3/20/2009 Hubba hubba hubba! Nice tag for 'The Gauntlet' *swoons happily* |
Lothithil chapter 2 . 3/20/2009 OMG! What a powerful image! How tricksy and wonderful of you, to turn us around like that! Very excellent! |
Lothithil chapter 1 . 3/20/2009 GLEE! What a great drabble... and so close to my coffee-lovin' heart. Mac would never turn up his nose at such a gesture! |
