This is basically my favorite kind of fanfic; so often the world is neglected in favor of the story, and while this is understandable, even natural, it does a disservice to the people who can only watch in horror as Granzeboma casts a shadow on the sky. Never forget the little people, right? They're just as important. This is the kind of story that helps fill in the gaps, this is the kind of the story that makes a world breathe. Thank you so very much for writing this so I can cry about Simon's last words here 10 years after you wrote it.

This is a damn nifty story, especially considering it's fanfiction. Even those few stories that aren't trashy romance or fluffy, boring writing tend to be blah, so it's a fantastic surprise when one of those happens to be good! And interesting! And fresh, for the love of God!

I first read this about a month ago, and I keep thinking about it, so it must be good. I loved how you've fleshed out these characters and their harsh world; the details you've put in really make this something special. Plus, it's so well-written. I can't compete with the first review, of course ... but, you have my utter admiration.
