I don’t know why, exactly, but the line about “they almost saved the world” captures the essence of this story really well. It’s bittersweet but more intensely so than most things.

Holy shit, these past two stories were good. You have a way with words that is rare, and I expect nothing less than you publishing your own literature in the future. Very, very good. So bleak, and yet there is a strange glimmer of hope in everything you wrote.

Wow, that scene on the bench somehow managed to be hot, touching *and* strangely wistful. That was really a wonderful set-piece. And was Rorsarch actually *jealous*? Fascinating...

I loved this glimpse into Rorsarch's early years- it's totally heart-breaking even when it isn't fully hopeless. And seeing Daniel being depended on so much is wonderful. Thank you for this story!

The characterization is spot-on perfect, and I am in love with your writing style, voice, everything. It makes me hope for the future of fanfiction, as fragile a hope that it may be.

I love the line: "Dan flicks a stray curl from his partner’s forehead, and tries not to imagine waking up beside shifting inkblots, ignores the little thrill he gets from picturing that." I'm glad that you show that, yes, Dan's not exactly normal either and he has his little masked hero kinks as well (although they're nowhere near as detrimental as Rorschach's).
