I just found this again and I gotta say I have no idea why I didn't review before. This is so, so amazing. I really miss fics like this! So attentive to detail, so romantic yet not cheesy, IC but not making them have no progress towards a relationship.

An enjoyable fic.

My favorite section: “[…] the cat that got the canary, she thinks, or perhaps the cat that outsmarted the canary and can't resist the delight of sticking a few feathers in its cap to prove it.” [A wonderful sentence; very descriptive and a fun play on a commonly-used idiom.]

This was really well-written. I loved how you took it from Lisbon's perspective, and talked about her trying to become more of a "Mentalist." I can see how being around Jane would sharpen her wits, and make her better about guessing what he's up to. Usually, I don't like things where it flash-backs back and forth, but it worked in this circumstance, building up to a great ending. Hope to read more.

Yes, I know I'm a little late with the review to this one but I just recently (over the summer) became a big fanfiction person. And today I decided to go through and read all of the Mentalist stories since I absolutely love the show.

Anyway, this is amazing. I really liked the way you started with the kiss but gave us insight into how they got there. It was really good. :)

This is one of my favourite Mentalist fics, I've lost count of the number of times I've read it. I think Lisbon and Jane are perfectly in character and I very much hope you write more for this pair. Thank you so much for posting.
