At 18 months a baby should be able to eat whatever the rest of the family eat.

I was completely willing to suspend disbelief for the sake of plot (drugs shapeshing someone? OK, read and enjoyed such stories before) but I'm not willing to do it because of lazy writing. It takes about a minute of thinking to recognize that force feeding someone a pill in the middle of a chase is just plainly a bad idea and make it a stabbing with a syringe. And I found few of such blunders in first chapter alone. (Growing furniture? What does that have with biology? Scientists specialize, this random crap is just plain magic. Forcing vomiting works perfectly fine for pillsdigestion takes time. And I could go on...).
None of this things are necessary to the plot, they could be easily prevented by just taking a second look at the story.

I'm sorry, but Gibbs went to far when he spanked baby Tony. Tony is already having nightmares from the times his own father hit him. Gibbs could have tried another method to discipline a baby that has already suffered the affect of abuse. Tony is mentally scarred by the abuse in his childhood, so a spanking would only make it worse. When Gibbs hit him, he would have relived the trauma of his youth.

In real life, Tony would become afraid of Gibbs. My father did the same thing to my brother, and my brother was afraid to come near my father. He had to rebuild his trust all over again.

This not discipline; it's abuse because Tony is too small to be hit. He not even two, and he just started walking two days ago. A baby should never be hit repeatedly. Think before you write.
