At this point I'm feeling like this story is incomplete, like there's something missing. I know that part of it is that "the reader" (I) didn't actually get to see Ron or Harry either one actually suffering for what they did ("paying for their crimes against Hermione") and "the reader" (I) didn't get to see those who set the whole thing up suffering or paying, either. They all got away with it - Hermione never did get justice on any front. Even bitchy, spoiled, selfish Gabrielle got away with her shit.

So, the summary of this story really should be: How everyone screwed Hermione over and got away with it but Hermione's happy anyway.

So who was it that tortured Hermione in Azkaban?

I love this story! Amazing work, Hermione has almost always been portrayed running back to Harry and Ron in fanfics about betrayal. But honestly, most people fail to recognize her significance in the story and to the full Wizarding world. She, as a strong woman, represents everything I want to peruse in my life, and I simply cannot put in words how grateful I am to have found this story. Thank you.
PS Where can I find Abyss and Ascension? I found Abyss by Lunalelle, but I'm not sure if it's the right one.

Very dark Brittannia, but it works for me. And Harry did deserve to wallow and suffer, yes. I do hope, though, that Luna remains well and finds happiness.

Though Hermione went all Dark and Scary there, it works for the character you've made her here. I am sorry for her, pity her, which would anger her, certainly, but she's a smart lady. She'd understand.

I really enjoyed how independent Hermione was...and her holding on to those feelings of anger and betrayal seemed much more realistic than the "s/he/they apologised and so I immediately forgave and forgot and everything is wonderful now" fics.

The love interest seemed a bit surprising because I didn't really see how Hermione liked Alsonso, or not as much as he liked her. But the whole forgetting thing was great and a new head-canon (I've always been bothered by the whole Men In Black approach to classified/retirement, so thank you very much for that, it's been bothering me for years).

I was just re-reading this story and let me tell you i like it. it was very well written and I hate the character Gabiealle and Ginny and Ron and Luna as well. I hope you make a sequel to where Hermione get revenge on Harry and Ron and that bitch Luna and Fuler sister.

An interesting story and exploration of Hermione's ruthless nature, but it seems it sort of lost its way a couple of chapters in. The Gabrielle thing completely dismantling a spy agency was hard to take. Also, I think the story would have been improved without the love interest for Hermione, as this seemed extraneous to the plot and her character.

I have to confess, as sad as it sounds, this story made my day so much better then it was and being a saturday, it was a good day already, but reading your story was unbelievably satisfying.
I've been looking for good stories where Hermione is betrayed for a while now and have only found a few good ones not even to mention those where she, after being on her own for years suddenly reverts to a puppy and runs back to them at the soonest sign of reconcilation.
I have to confess, that at the point where Hermione says she would like to thank Snape and later on the budding relationship with Alonzo made me hope that Alonzo was Snape, but I fully contribute that to my inner SS/HG fangirl.
Eitherway, I'm very impressed with your writing, the whole scope of the story, your exploration of Hermiones character and the made up characters. I normally am not a fan of stories with more then one or two OOC's but all of yours were convincing and likeable, well the ones that were supposed to be likeable. For all the others I felt according loathing.

The might of the Baret group is a bit intensce (f.e. compared to nations).

The confrontation feels constructed: Her superiors know her real identity and at least that Veela can read Auras. It would just be logical to keep her away from the wedding. Someone in the company would inform Gilles what possible outcome his actions will have (of course in code).

I like your H. Potter. He is an very impulsive character, takes action and then later broods and feels guilty. Quite a feat for someone who was quite often wrongly judged. In many ways he is no better than Ron with his jealousy.

Pity that you leave hints for mudblood resistance/revolution in many of your stories but never got around and wrote it. You already have that great fic where Hermione wrote a manifest. In a sequel of this one a book like it could be published "posthumously". The Muddis could use her as a Martyr, wrongly accused, tourtured by an injust system (ok by Harry and Ron but it was the system that made it possible) and then after she escaped driven to death.

To take your own example, many people forget that Mandela was also member of the armed resistance.
