I'm super late to this Fandom, but I loved this! You gave so much depth to a character that didn't really have a lot of detail in the series, and while sometimes the rigor you applied to explaining thoughts and reasoning had me skipping paragraphs, for the most part it was very enlightening. On the whole, this is probably the best - written fanfiction I've read aside from Lady Knight Volant.

This story was beautiful. I really loved it. All the characters were written as I had seen them and it was amazing.

For Your Information, If you've read Daughter of the Lioness (Trickster) Quartet then you will know that a normal person is only allowed to kiss a lady on the hands and even a lady's betrothed is only allowed kiss her on the hands, cheeks and forehead. Kissing on the mouth is reserved strictly for Husbands. So Owen kissing Margarry is really not allowed.

But *sigh* unfortunately it is Incomplete. The Main Story is finished but there should have been a few more Chapters, you should have skipped ahead in time with one showing their wedding, the other when they're older and have children and so on. But those chapters can't be without action either, they should have small problems like, hmm let's see, oh I've got it, Prosper of Tameran and Owen's sister Olivia or was it Opal, anyway they quarrel or Prosper gets angry and slaps her or something and then Owen goes "Tameran, HOW DARE YOU" and he shouts at him and then they duel and Owen absolutely humiliates something AND it all happened the day before Owen's Wedding too.

if Owen and Margarry are going to do that type of "behaviour" then at least don't let them be caught and tell us in the foreword as well. Pleaaase

I know I'm late to the party, but I figured you'd still like the review.

I've read through this story in one go, which has resulted in me not sleeping tonight, it was worth it though!

I love how you took characters we know and delved so much deeper than we've ever seen before. I loved how the relationship between Owen and Wyldon developed over the course of this story, yet it never seemed forced or rushed. Wyldon at the end isn't the same as Cannon Wyldon, yet the way you explored his character throughout the fic it didn't seem out of place. The comparisons between both Wyldon and Owen as well as Owen and Bevin were excellent. Though I must say I prefer the title Sir Bastard for him. I really enjoyed Owen's perspective of the refugee rescue as well as his contemplation before taking the Ordeal.

The love story between Margarry and Owen was so sweet. I adored their letters to each other, and I really liked Margarry's character in general. It would be impossible to imagine him with anyone else now. I loved the meeting between Owen's sisters and Margarry. Poor Owen is so oblivious to the language of girls. :)

All in all you took a character I really liked, who we unfortunately didn't get to see enough of in the books and made him his own world. I'm going to stop now before I ramble too much more, but I look forward to seeing what else you have written.

So admittedly I haven't read the entire thing, I've actually just finished Chapter 3 but there's no way I'll finish this tonight and I wanted to make sure I didn't forget to give you a review. I'm so excited that you've written this much on Wyldon and Owen, because I've always wanted to hear more between the two of them once Owen's his squire. Your writing is very detailed and true to the characters. I love Owen's reactions to the new parts of Wyldon that he gets to see. Who knew the training master was a real person, huh? :)

My only criticism is that a lot of the time you go overboard on the synonyms. It's okay to use "boring" words sometimes. You use a lot of big, elegant language, which sometimes works, especially when what you're writing is Owen's observation, because he just kind of talks like that anyway. Sometimes, though, the creativity of the words is a little much. Some bits read like you wrote it in normal language and then went through finding an impressive synonym for every other word. It's okay to just have people "say" things or "laugh," etc. You want to be descriptive, but not distract the reader. Anyway, I love your ideas and I can't wait to finish this fic!

Two notes:

have titles so The Kennedys and the Bushed of the US would not be aristocrats but gentry.

2. in Tortall nobles don't have family names, only their holdings are added, hence Kel is'm Keladry Mindelan but is Keladry of Mindelan, same with Raoul who is OF Goldenlake and Maloris Peak .

This story is amazing. It is defiantly on the caliber of Fallen by Confusedknight. I really liked how you portrayed Owen. In the books he is a bit flat but you give him great depth of character. The one thing that gave me a bit of pause was that the passing of time wasn't very clear. Having finished the story I am left feeling that only two years not four of Owen's quire years were accounted for. The only other mistake I noticed was that at one point when you were describing the warhorses fight you accidentally typed warhouse instead of warhorse which made me laugh. This is defiantly a story I will come back and reread in the future.
