Nice work, I could definitely imagine these pokemon in the game. The names fit very well, and have a definitely 'pokemon' flavour to them. The concepts are interesting as well- not too outlandish, but still not clones of the existing canon pokemon.

I do have one minor observation, however. One of the reasons Firebats have no natural predators in the wild, according to you, because they are "too manoeuvrable to be caught". This begs the question- if they have no natural predators, why have they evolved to be extremely manoeuvrable? Animals IRL that have no natural predators tend to be either right on top of the food chain, or a clumsy animal like the panda or the flightless birds. Plus you have them catch their insects from swarms, and as 'mild-tempered'. The former rules out the explanation that they need to be manoeuvrable to catch fast individual insects, while the latter seems to preclude the possibility that they became manoeuvrable in competition to each other.

Sorry for the nitpicking, it's just that the rest of the little details in the fic is of such high standard that this leapt out as something implausible. I would certainly be interested in seeing these pokemon in action, perhaps a later fic? :)

Oooo! Kewl-ness! I luuurve those new Pokémon! My favourites were the Slashsure and Slashdeep, naturally (I love snakes). That was really cool!
