Reviews for Failure Is The Only Option
Bobtrumpet chapter 19 . 2/2/2019
Oh, yeah I almost forgot. Favorited.
Bobtrumpet chapter 16 . 1/31/2019
And I forgot to comment on “Shego Goodthighs” in my last review. Nice touch (the name, not the thighs). So was Miss Hennypenny.
Bobtrumpet chapter 15 . 1/31/2019
“I trust that you'll both remember that this is just a movie we're trapped in, and not let yourselves get too . . . buried in your characters?"
Yeah, THAT’S in keeping with the Disney way! Lol! Or did I read too much into it? ... Nah.
Nice work. One of the more enjoyable stories here. Sorry I only reviewed chapter 9 (?) the last time through.
Bobtrumpet chapter 10 . 1/29/2019
I usually don’t like parodies of my favorite movie, but it’s usually because they are either bad or irreverent (or both). Not so this one. Nice job.
arandomshipper chapter 19 . 10/19/2018
Solid piece of work. Outstanding, really. There aren't many fanfiction writers capable of this level of quality. It was fun, interesting, and as true to the source material as anything I've read so far.

You're clearly better than me in the mechanics of writing, so take this with a grain of salt, but I'll presume to give some advice on the subject anyway. The flaws I can identify the most easily are the ones I can't seem to overcome myself, and of the many, many, many of those that I have, the one you share with me is the over dependence on the 'tell' style of describing the look on someone's face. I can't tell you how to fix it in exact detail (If I knew that I wouldn't do it myself) but the best authors find ways around it, conveying the information more organically. I see that this is among your earliest stories, so it's entirely possible that you've already fixed this and any other minor flaws that I failed to identify or mention, but I figure if there's a chance it could be helpful to you down the line I should say something.

A big thank you from me and every other KP lover for the work you put into this and your other stories. I'll probably end up reading them all at some point.
arandomshipper chapter 15 . 10/19/2018
Loving the story so far. Parts of it might just be the most authentic feeling KP fanfic I've read yet. The pace is perfect, the dialogue shows a strong grasp of each character's voice, the premise is about as KPish as can possibly be. It really does play out like an episode. Easily in the top ten KP stories I've read. I only really have one complaint at this point in the story...

You almost lost me at the Casa part. It was a sharp left turn that left me feeling dizzy and a bit put off. Everyone had been so firmly in character at that point that for them to suddenly start fully playing along with whatever role the program shoved them into, going directly against their own personality traits, for no reason that I could see was jarring. I figured it was a one-off that I could ignore though, like one of those dream sequences in a sitcom. The explanation you eventually gave for their behavior in that and the following chapters did settle the issue for me somewhat, but that will nevertheless remain my least favorite part of the story so far.

I suppose I'll throw in a very mild protest of Ron's general horniness while I'm talking about things I didn't like. Very mild. It's mostly okay and in character. Just a tad over the top.

I thought the Fearless Ferret part was fun, even though as the nearly omniscient reader I would say Kim and Ron made a very grave error engaging with Zorpox, who is undeniably the single greatest threat to the KP universe. They could/should have just let him do his thing, conquer the world or whatever, in the episode they were in, and stayed out of his way and off his radar. Everything would be fixed next episode anyway, and fighting him like they did runs the risk of him figuring out who they really are and where they came from, possibly using them to escape into the real world, or maybe finding a way to do it on his own once he knows it exists. If anyone could do it, he could. And the thought of a Zorpox not connected to Ron, one that can't be defeated just by bringing Ron back to himself...that's a scary thought. It's a perfectly in character error to make, though, particularly for Ron. That sort of universe-ending mistake is kind of what he's known for, in fact. If I were into betting, I'd say that's the climax of this story. If not, that was still a fun self-contained pair of chapters.

Oh, but the Judge Judy part was my favorite. For sure. That's exactly how I would expect a Judy vs Shego encounter to go. Three fun characters, each with perfect characterization, in the best possible setting for interaction between them. Could not ask for a better chapter.

I feel like the execution of the idea does raise a few questions that you may or may not answer down the line. The characters' clothing and even their very bodies are modified in each new setting, which makes me wonder whether or not damage, or even actual death, would be permanent, or if it's simply erased when they move to the next setting. The extent to which personality and memories can be changed is also in question, as there were a few instances when people seemed to be injected with artificial knowledge of the situation at hand and/or acted directly against their own interests (the Casa part comes to mind). None of these questions really need to be answered for the integrity or quality of the story to be secure, though. It's totally KP style to raise these kinds of questions and never answer them. Just the kind of thing I wonder about.
Krusher chapter 5 . 5/20/2018
I missed this fic the first time I combed through the archive. Probably because I exclude all fics that don't have Ron listed as a character (in an attempt to avoid the dreaded Kigo fics). But I saw another story by you that was good enough to make me check your profile and I'm glad I did.
Krusher chapter 1 . 5/20/2018
LOLed at Red Cow energy
Bobtrumpet chapter 9 . 8/13/2016
Shego channeling Dorothy Parker. Nice!
Guest chapter 7 . 5/29/2016
Well at least Shego's enjoying it...
Fulgrim chapter 19 . 11/9/2015
This is truly magnificent! Seriously, it just is not possible to improve on this tale - and I mean that in the very best way. :)

Sooooo... you promised a follow-up to the cliff-hanger, and to the frisson between Shego and Ron... and that was allllll the way back in 2009... we're now nearing the end of 2015, six years and a few months later... Is there any chance that that'll be coming up any time soon? *looks hopeful* Please? Pretty please with sugar and sprinkles and Shego on top? ;)
SeriousAnalysis chapter 19 . 1/30/2013
Whooo. This was excellent! And funny!
Anthony1l chapter 19 . 5/4/2012
This story is hilarious, interesting, original, touching, and unique.
Karon19 chapter 19 . 6/1/2011
I know many of my reviews felt kind of rushed, but that's because I used to burn myself out by reviewing every single chapter and detailing everything I loved about the fic. It wasn't healthy.

But I really did enjoy this story. True it felt like a fanfic within a fanfic at times, as you were using original properties left and right, combining them with KP, but that did not take away from the originality it took to create this television-spanning epic.

What's most important, and this I envy you for, is that you seemed to have fun while writing it. No matter our hobby, when it turns out feeling like work is when it ceases to have all meaning. This fic has shown me what true dedication and a love of storytelling can do for an already established franchise and its many, many parodies.

You hint at something in this story having an affect in your greater universe. Now I have to read more. Funny how I never would have stumbled on this fic had we not written for the same story contest. Go figure.

All Good Things come to and end...for now.

Karon19 chapter 17 . 6/1/2011
Great spoof. And what action! Ron made a killing as James Bond (funny how Dr. D, aka Dr. Yes, can only remember his name when he's a famous agent) and getting all the girls in the process. The real highlight was having Kim and Shego exchange pleasantries while they were exchanging hostilities in the lab.

A new dimension and possibly their last? As Shego would say, "What fresh torture is this?"
