Super Tinfoil Man Part 2 chapter 22 . 12/5/2010 Crazy good ! |
Siri Kenobi chapter 19 . 10/31/2010 I'm going to review the whole story here. I loved your whole entire story! You are a very talented writer and I look forward to reading more from you in the future. One of my favorite things about your story was how you captured Obi-Wan's character. He was true to character and you captured his emotions, cares, and thoughts wonderfully. Another thing I liked was how you wrote Obi-Wan and Anakin's relationship. It was spot on from their witty banter to their deep care for each other. I liked how you are able to write, humor, emotions, battle scenes and detailed descriptions of everything in your story. Thank you for sharing! Siri Kenobi (Obi-Wan RULES!) |
Obiwan456 chapter 22 . 8/2/2010 He still blames himself after all those years. Obi-wan, Obi-Wan, did Qui-Gon not teach you that you have to forgive yourself? I loved this chapter, "Skywalkers never listen to me", ha, ha. You did very well in writing this chapter, explaining why he seemed not to recognise the droids, etc. Good, good job. I thoroughly enjoyed it. ~Obi's Mom. |
Obiwan456 chapter 21 . 8/2/2010 The scene with QuiGon was wonderful! It did not suck, so there. The allegorical element struck me again, reading this chapter. Also, the encouragement of Obi-Wan finally seeing some hope. The reluctant, noble, humble hero will survive, as he always had. I loved your versions of these stories from Obi-Wan's point of view. I'm taking it the last chapter is an epilogue? Going to check it out. ~Obi's Mom. |
Obiwan456 chapter 20 . 8/2/2010 Ah, the heartbroken cynic, ready to cut off all love from his life. and his need to redeem himself from his perceived guilt is so sad. Yes, maybe he (like all of us) could have done things a little differently, better perhaps, and maybe could have made more of a difference in Anakin's life, but just like all of us, he needs to realize the only one ultimately responsible for Anakins decisions is Anakin. Did not Obi-Wan express his love and appreciation to Anakin just a day or two before when he was leaving? He may not have said "I Love You", but everything he said said it all. How Quickly Anakin forgot when he faced Obi-Wan on Mustafar. Boy, I get so wordy on these reviews!~I don't usually do this on others. Your wonderful story just seems to bring out the (Christian based)philosopher in me, (because I do see things overall from that viewpoint):) ~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 19 . 8/2/2010 Aww...puppy play..(sniff), thats such a cute and heartbreaking thought. Too bad thats not what it was... Obi-Wan went through so much anguish here, and I never realized how hard it really must have been for Anakin too, even as dark as he was, a little part of him didn't want to fight Obi-Wan. Poor Obi-Wan blames himself for everything. But he's really not doing anything differently from any parent who has lost a loved one to the wrong choices, how much do they question themselves on what they could have done or not done that might have made a difference. He showing himself a true parent in this, I think. Great emotional chapter. ~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 18 . 8/2/2010 Very good, very descriptive, I could see the movie playing in my head along with Obi-Wan's thoughts.~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 17 . 8/2/2010 Poor Obi-Wan. This really shows the heartbreak and emotion involved in his realization that he was going to have to kill Anakin, or die trying. I loved the details of his realizations, the "taking away his goal to visit every world," Killing the boy he "Nurtured like a son", etc. very powerful emotions. I wish the movie had shown this more, but maybe it's just as well..it could have then been in danger of falling a bit into melodramatics, and it had enough critics without that I guess, lol. Well done. ~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 16 . 8/1/2010 Awesome. Much closer to the book. Emotional..if I hadn't read the book previously, I might have even cried. I'm still waiting for Yoda to hit him with his gimer stick ;)~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 15 . 7/31/2010 Wonderfully written chapter. Poor Obi-Wan, he is so crushed by what has happened and so full of grief and guilt over the death of Anakin and the Jedi, and he doesn't even know the worst yet. I am so sorry to have read of your personal heartbreak. It being now July, 31, 2010, I hope things have gotten better for you. We've been going through some pretty hard things ourselves, and although, as you said, FF is not real life, right or wrong, I have found it to be a bit of an escape for a little awhile. When I get off here, I have to go back to the challenges in our real life. I hope you and your family are doing okay now. ~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 14 . 7/31/2010 Good chapter. It's been a long time since I read the book preceding the Ep. 3 book, (Can't even remember the name) but the mention of Cato Nemoidia, when Anakin got there late and Obi-Wan had to utilize a "new form of lightsaber" fighting (as Anakin called it)..wasn't that the incident when Obi-Wan had been exposed to toxic levels of Nemoidian stuff (can't remember what it was..I seem to remember it having something to do with their mating rituals), and became intoxicated with it before Anakin could get there to help him, so he had to fight the droids alone, till Anakin finally got there just as Obi-Wan destroyed all the droids in his intoxicated state and then collapsed in Anakin's arms? That was just about my fav part of the book, because it showed how human Obi-Wan was and it showed the relationship he and Anakin had. Did I recall it right? It's probably been two years since I read it. ~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 13 . 7/29/2010 I haven't had a much time to read lately, so have been trying to read a chapter at night before going to bed. Enjoyed this chapter..I see you're following the book pretty closely as well as the movie. I enjoyed the book almost more than the movie because it showed much more emotion than the movie did. I really enjoyed Ewan's performance in the movies, and can project his image easily in the books as well as your stories, etc. When Obi-Wan saw the hologram of Anakin after the temple was attacked he basically lost it in the book, till Yoda hit him with the gimer stick. In the movie, I saw barely a flicker compared to the book, which was disappointing. (Hope I didn't give away any spoilers here to your story, just was wanting to say thats why I enjoyed the book so much.) And I am looking forward to seeing how you handle these intense upcoming events from Obi-Wan's point of view! ~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 10 . 7/23/2010 You do have a way with words. The last line of this chapter was just perfect. Good chapter, in this almost allegorical story. I've seen the movies sort of that way also. I don't know if Lucas intended that..he just wanted to tell a story, but good stories have a touch of truth, and sometimes unpleasant truth. "Too busy eating fast food, watching the latest holovid," etc. to worry about what rights are being slowly eroded away. (I know I paraphrased, but reading that part sent chills down my spine). ~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 9 . 7/22/2010 Wow, this chapter had some powerful stuff in it. I've thought before how we are not really totally free, we all have to submit to somebody in some form or other, most of the time for our good. It is freedom to choose who we submit to, and to embrace it, making th e most out of it, as Obi-Wan suggested. Poor Obi-Wan! Put in such an impossible spot. I remember reading the part with the council in the book, and that Obi-Wan really didn't realize they were talking about him when they said they're most "cunning, insightful and tenacious master"..he always degrades himself, doesn't he? ~Obi's Mom |
Obiwan456 chapter 8 . 7/21/2010 whoa, such foreshadowing. Obi-Wan's observations hit much closer to the mark than even he realized. "Palpatine's Monster", for instance. How awful it was for Obi Wan to see the trap (or catch 22) he and the Jedi were in and feel so helpless to know what to do about it. This gives more understanding to the movie, and the realization that perhaps the Jedi weren't as clueless as they seemed, just helpless to do anything about it (without it being treason, etc., which is actually what happened). ~Obi's Mom |
