you know, there were two parseltongue entries Harry would need to open. In the bathroom, then another beyond the rockslide, so despite what Snape said, Harry *would* need to come down with them.

Great story

Existing contracts. For example, they had a contact that ignored inflation for buying lands connected to the school grounds or something, and have a fixed price on it. Effectively steal the land, or threaten to anyways, with all the gold and properties of the wizarding world of Britain being held hostage. And because, yknow, magic, that could mess with ole moldy and his plans.

I mean I could imagine anne doing so, totally unscrupulous things that only might matter on the tiniest off chance that it would matter.

I'm not clear on your portrayal of mumbles, but that is potentially the hardest to factor. Mumble more has plenty of legit reasons to oppose the gang, in fact doing otherwise, I'd say, is unthinkable, no matter what kind of headmaster you have.

I like Snape. His reactions, outwardly, and inwardly, would be interesting. I also want to read a Prophet article on what was overheard. So much noise.

Also, while I'm pretty sure the crown didn't exist, an certainly didn't in structure or even bloodline at this point, considering the extreme parallel, that could factor in. Want to see the bloody royals get some notes. Hell, they don't even need to be the current family either.
